My opinion on the staff

Nuts....the football thing is an opinion on what players were recruited and what players didn't stick around.....Ash didn't flush out every Flood recruit, as the ones that stayed were clearly on the same page with Ash, the new coaches and new regime.....there were others that weren't and could have stayed and helped with the remaining 2016 class and I've had people off the record that you probably would trust with this stuff, agree with me 100%, but they cannot comment on things like I can. We heard a lot of the same complaints about Flood, but ironically only did it appear after he was fired, when it became open season.....recruiting rankings don't matter, RU had clear gaps at certain positions that we missed by not handling the outgoing staff properly.

Yes, they do, especially when you run a pro-style O and I think you know that, however, I don't want to argue with you, we just don't see eye-to-eye on any of these topics. That being said can we PLEASE stop making excuses for Flood and Co's lousy recruiting classes, lol, it's okay to say "you're right, back-to-back-to-back classes, in the 50's, is NOT a good thing."

If anyone knows how to roll properly in the mud it is going to be someone with a connection to Calhoun. And I always got the feeling Shoes had an idea how to do this recruiting crap. Wouldn't be shocked if Shoes stuck around.

SP is not keeping O'Koren or Dalip Bhatia. No Chance! By the way- the staff is still on the website since technically they are still employed.

So only Macon and Shoes even have a chance of being evaluated IMO. if he keeps one or both- terrific. if he doesn't- terrific!

But according to the media, he'll run the program the right way. No shortcuts and with integrity.

Which is fine!

But doesn't sound like Calhoun to me, at least from a recruiting point of view.

There is no such thing as short cuts anymore. It's a free for all out there.

Ill wait to see responses to Pikiell's recruiting. I know our 2016 guys were deemed awful because of their offer list. I liked Dailey, but he wasn't Big Ten ready. I heard good and bad about Tripp.

But Pikiell will get a pass as he should because he's new.

I don't know if it's assistants or the budget that's hurting mote.

However, good defense with same talent will only get you so far. It's not just about rankings, but even the bad Big Ten programs recruit well.

Wow...this post just made me "SMH" and you know how much I respect you Hawk. Anyway:

- EVERY coach in our football program had to go - PERIOD - it was a shit-show on-and-off the field and I'm not even going to bother getting into it (again). Ash needed a clean break from the past, immediately, and got it done.

- our class, when Flood was fired, was rated 54th (Rivals) and 57th(247). It was filled with "reaches," kids with no or a low # of P5 offers, etc etc, and nobody with the slightest modicum of sanity expected Ash to do anything recruiting-wise, in those 2 months, because of the damage done by the prior regime.

- If Pikiell decides to keep someone, fine, but it's hard to say that he SHOULD keep ANYBODY who was previously associated with this God-awful program other than the kids on scholarship.

100% agree

Agree. Bizarre post by Hawk, who usually posts good stuff.
