My thoughts on Iowa fans

my thoughts:

6. Way too many RU fans in rows 101-105 rows 1-10 selling tix to visiting teams. Been happening the last few years and seems to be getting worse. Shame.

I look at it the other way... these fans bought their tickets.. did their donations to do so.. but don't like the product we offer enough to show up now.

When they stop buying the tix and other people get to move in there and required donations go DOWN, etc... then we know we are in real trouble. That is Ash's main job, imho, prevent that from happening.

To be clear- I don't think any of the fans were hostile and maybe dismissive is the wrong word but the few that I spoke to in a very friendly engaging manner really only responded begrudgingly.. It was kind of strange.
BTW- the Iowa fans chanting during injury- there was no excuse for it. It was right in front of the biggest group chanting...

I'm assuming you mean the group near the Iowa sideline. I noticed they left shortly after he was carted off. Any idea if they left because they realized how poorly timed their chant was? Or just decided to go leave?

Yeah- that's the group. I was behind the Rutgers bench so don't know if that was why they left

What happened that the students directed an "ASSHOLE" chant to the west side?

I found their fans to be polite but reserved. OSU, Nebraska and the Maryland fans seemed more engaging. Aside from that one group who chanted during the injury they seemed to be polite and knowledgeable fans.

We are from here. They are from there.;) If you meet 100 tailgaters from anywhere you will bond with half of them and want to piss on the others.

Seems many Big Ten fans from the original schools will always view us as a member, with an asterisk. A buddy from Michigan said to just give the new members the $, and let them all play each other (I guess if the big ten admitted several new members), and let the original schools play within their group.
That's a shock coming from a Michigan guy. Worst fans ever.

DEFINITELY untrue. Half the dopes sitting in the Carrier Dome friendly? Try riding the shuttle back to the parking lot on the hill fto discover waht a steady dose of cold winter will do to a person's thought process. How about walking down the runway at UConn's defunct airport to get to the game. Might as well wear a garbage bag coverup or a rain coat to keep your clothes clean. B1G fans have been generally respectful and passionate as opposed to rude and insincere,

I was disappointed to see that so many good seats in season ticket holder sections seemed to be occupied by Iowa fans. Bad job by the RU fanbase on that front.
.
Wasn't my section, finally. The jerkoff who used to sell his tickets every game to opposing fans is GONE!:cool2: No longer will I be surrounded by the other team's fans. Nor will my section be known as the Kiddie Corral any longer. What did I get, 8 middle aged ball busting die hard RU fans. We may suck this year, but it's going to be one fun journey.
