Last week, had a negative punt.

This week- a 5 yarder 12 rows deep in the stands.

Their starting punter was tragically killed in an accident this summer.

Anyone here for the Game against 'cuse when the wind was so strong their kickoffs kept blowing backwards?

I wasn't there but remember the Syracuse coach at the press conference looked shell shocked they lost. And he just kept mumbling about the wind lol.

Wish I could find that video. Think they fired him after that game.

I hope you guys realize why the punting situation at Nebraska is less then desirable. The team is dealing the tragic death of their rising Senior punter, Sam Foltz (B1G kicker of the year in 2015) who died in an auto accicent during the summer. I think every opponent this year has handled this in a classy manner by honoring Sam. In their opener they took a delay of game penalty to honor him that was declined by their opponent.

I am sure this year's kicker is stepping in a year earlier than anticpated. Maybe there is a ton off pressure on him. To step into the shoes and follow him must be difficult for sure.

That's s why the OP said "Their starting punter was tragically killed in an accident this summer."

Still has not stopped the angst of Huskers fans this season at the punting situation. @huskersalways posted about it earlier this week.

I recall that in H.S. our punter cupped his foot instead of extending it and actually kicked the ball backwards over his head.

The angst really isn't against the punter himself but all the special teams. NU is paying $450,000 a year for a special teams coach and all of them suck. If there was any hint of improvement it would be fine but our special teams make your offense look like Tom Brady and the Pats.

Nobody is being to hard on the punter. He is a true freshmen who was suppose to get to watch and learn this year. That being said its game 12 and he missed the field. I would hope the coach would have him adjusted to the college game a little better by now.
