New College Ave Hillel Building

Where on College Ave is this. Any pics? I don't remember the design.
It's about two houses down from The Yard. Right at the intersection of College Ave and Seminary.

Here's the website and a picture below.

Squeezed the Hillel between D.U. and D.K.E. houses. Uh, interesting choice or architecture to place between those two brick frats. Good to have it on College Ave. though.

Style does seem a bit out of place between the brick houses and Ford Hall across the street. Also, they got some crazy set back variances. Their front entry overhang is practically on the sidewalk. It would be nice to keep the set backs on College Ave. What is going on with Ford Hall these days?? Is it used at all now?

Agree on the setbacks. The size of the project is more substantial than the surrounding buildings too so the intensity of the reduced setback is even more pronounced. The style is different but doesn't bother me much.

What will this new building be used for? Will students live there or will there be classes there ? or is it just for meetings and things? It is a very big building if it just for meetings

The new building is for meetings, events, and prayer for both Jewish students and others on campus. There is also a kosher restaurant in the building. It contains leisure rooms, study areas, an event kitchen, as well as multiple areas for other events. There are no dormitories nor Rutgers classes being held there.

Think of it like a student center in purpose.

Hillel and Chabad are (fairly) friendly rivals. Chabad houses tend to have rooms for very religiously observant students; that's rare for a Hillel. For those who don't know, Chabad is a brand of Jewish orthodoxy, while Hillel is intended for all Jewish students regardless of their level of observance.
