Looks pretty good...

Sorry to be a downer , but to me it looks like they put some walls and lights up. Don't get what the big deal is.

I can fugure the fields will be in great shape but I have been on those fields and they weren't like they were practicing on a sandlot.

Absolutely LOVE this! That's the same "look," that brick, that the exterior of the stadium will hopefully have one day (it was one of the things removed when we lost $30M from the deal).

That place is a disaster area. Looks like poopie, with the fences and all, lights are crooked, field doesn't drain properly, should I go on?

LOVE IT-these are the details that matter. I hope the Lax/Soccer facility follows the same design ideas. Would love to see "permanent" stands with the same brick/stone and have the concessions and bathrooms built in under the stands. The metal erector set just screams high school. My perfect world has a giant 60-80 ft atrium/hall of fame with soccer stands facing towards Yurcak and lacrosse stands facing opposite towards the stadium, with a new turf field-Think Contemporary hotel at Disney with the concessions/bathrooms climate controlled inside and the HOF for everyone to see. Maybe a giant glass wall with the lax/soccer weight room behind and a 50' waterfall cascading over the 20' red granite R. If we're going to do it....do it right, do it B1G!!! Mr&Mrs Towers, Brown and Garutti listening....? Instead of a stand alone building, all the locker rooms, offices etc could be built within this structure. It could have a glass penthouse, similar to 3rd floor Hale Center, that looks out over both fields.

The gate looks like one of the gates that lead into Queens Campus. The entire football complex and stadium should draw themes from Queens Campus.

Again, that was the original idea, in the conceptual designs of the stadium, but when the state took $30M (IIRC) out of the deal, that look- along with a lot of other things - unfortunately got scrapped.

I sent these pics to Hobbs and Sarah a long time ago and I believe they have made modifications to the plans based upon them. They are UF's womans lacrosse complex. The top pic is stands for lacrosse and on the opposite side are stands for soccer. Vendors, bathrooms and press on top in the middle. The bottom pic is the locker rooms which are on the end of the lacrosse fields. You could easily envision a beefed up version of the top pic for soccer and lacrosse at Rutgers with turf on one side and grass on the other.

That video board facing the intersection by the scarlet walk will be awesome, all ready by next season! Can't wait! AND FINALLY permanent towers ... like the B1G boys (I've seen OSU and been on Michigan's practice facility .. this looks just like them if not a little fancier with the fencing) THIS is what we need. So much yes.

Cortland (NY) has a football/soccer stadium just like this that is great. Navy has a similar thing attached to the endzone of their football stadium, as does Washington.

Yeah because brick walls and iron gates are so unappealing and cheap to boot. They should just put up some chain link fence with barbed wire at the top and be done with it. Now that would be an attractive look, good call.:chairshot:

Those photos look classy AF!

Hopefully this will help develop the players we have to be the best they can be and attract more of those picky 4 and 5 stars we all love.

Wrong.
Take a drive over there tomorrow to check it out and then drive back on August 2nd and take a second look.

Didn't know that , that's a real shame. It would have looked fantastic. My buddy and I always talk about playing the Scarletknight theme up to the max , castle facade, turrets , drawbridge lol.

Gotta love NJ construction costs.

GO RU

That's really interesting. I guess it wouldn't be too hard to replace the awful chain linked fence that encompasses our stadium with brick.

Damn, that looks good. Looks like they are getting rid of that giant kitty litter sand box as well. My son wanted to run around in it, not happening kid. It looked awful, this looks awesome. RU!

I think they wanted to try and make a wider concourse at that North End first.

Something similar to Cortland would be great....but on steroids. Have a huge atrium in the center with a Hall of Fame etc. similar to the Hale lobby, but much larger. All the youth soccer/lax kids would be blown away to see All Americans Alexi Lallas and Carli Lloyd and Bieda and Reid Jackson etc while getting their pretzel.

Coordinating fencing/lights etc, not a faded pink chain link fence. Can we be better than Cortland??? We're in the B1G F'g 10, and need to start acting like it

Or scoreboard. :(

Love the looks. Classy is right. Thought... Rutgers could turn this into a premium tailgating area. No cars but could be a kind off premium reserved tent and grill setup for a premium experience offered by Rutgers. Just bring your cooler. With a little planning that could be really awesome and offered by Rutgers to produce additional $$$..Would also be great to the scarlet walk gameday experience with a few hundred fans located right there.

Can't believe there aren't more posts, this is amazing for recruiting

That's when you know Rutgers did good. Low post count for something like this means there's nothing to complain about. If this was something bad, there would be 5 pages of posts by now with every supposed Rutgers fan troll coming out of the woodwork to bash it!
Agreed on both. Seems the masses on this board don't like good news for Rutgers football. Some want to keep dwelling on the W-L from last season and speculating on how bad we will be next season. I posted two threads at the same time last evening, one about Janarion Grant being predicted to go in rounds 5-7 of the NFL draft, and one on Maddox-Williams and Harris making ESPN's B1G All-Freshman team. Look at the responses for the latter thread:
https://rutgers.forums.rivals.com/t...liams-make-espn-b1g-all-freshman-team.115097/

And even if the OP is a little over-optimistic, the reactions to his post was really way over the top when he said that the UW opener next year is not an "automatic" loss, some to the point of questioning if he was sober when he made the post.

https://rutgers.forums.rivals.com/t...-dont-count-this-as-an-automatic-loss.114732/

That old saying misery loves company fits this board to T sometimes. We have quite a few positive-minded posters here, but they often get drowned out by the drumbeat of the negatoids.

I think the renderings look fabulous. Really appreciate the efforts of the Towers. Hope they stay involved and inspire others to donate. Go RU!

I thought the same thing when I saw the Great Wall of China and they didn't even have lights - lol

Some people only are only here to bash Rutgers and nothing else. How many people only post during game threads to bash the team and ONLY when we are losing?

That is just one example.

Anyway, this is a pretty big deal, I hope the actual fans of Rutgers Football understand that. There is a lot of good happening at Rutgers now.
