Pike says he does not change the starting 5 until there is a loss. Therefore, here is my new stating 5: PG - Harper: SG - Hayes; SF -Bailey; PF - Martini; C - Somerville.
Somerville is nice offensively but he is such a HUGE negative in the +/- defensively and if you don’t see that on the tv then idkPike says he does not change the starting 5 until there is a loss. Therefore, here is my new stating 5: PG - Harper: SG - Hayes; SF -Bailey; PF - Martini; C - Somerville.
That would a disaster defensively.Pike says he does not change the starting 5 until there is a loss. Therefore, here is my new stating 5: PG - Harper: SG - Hayes; SF -Bailey; PF - Martini; C - Somerville.
the problem is, we have 3 guys who stink on offense ( williams , davis and jordan) and a few that stink on D but are good on offense ( hayes, somerville, and acuff). Martini is okay on both but i expected more from him on both ends. Then you have dylan and ace who are hot and cold on d, specially AceThat would a disaster defensively.
Jwill is completely awful! Every team we play and continue to play will be in a zone and double Dylan and Ace.J will plays defense, he has to start, it has to be the injury holding him back offensively or a chemistry issue with ace and dylan
Ogobole to me has to keep starting because Summerville is just so bad defensively. I would still keep Martini as starter for now so its J Will replacing Derkack
Harsh, but JWill plays tough D.Jwill is completely awful! Every team we play and continue to play will be in a zone and double Dylan and Ace.
You need shooters to open up the lane. Jwill cannot shoot and his whole game is driving to the rim which against a zone is nullified.
Can’t play on this team. Cut Jmike fast as well
I actually like this. Bench - Ogbole, Derkack, JWill, Acuff with Davis out of the rotation unless foul trouble. The only issue I see is that the bench will give you no scoring.Pike says he does not change the starting 5 until there is a loss. Therefore, here is my new stating 5: PG - Harper: SG - Hayes; SF -Bailey; PF - Martini; C - Somerville.
chol wouldnt stick out in a lineup like thatPike says he does not change the starting 5 until there is a loss. Therefore, here is my new stating 5: PG - Harper: SG - Hayes; SF -Bailey; PF - Martini; C - Somerville.
Lets hire Buddy Ryan as head coach and pass every down and try to outscore people. Lets hire Mouse Davis as offensibe coordinator and bring in a fullback and a tight end. Lets bring Bob Dylan in and take away his harmonica and give him a tubaDiscussion of a starting five won't satisfy fans because the lack of players that excel on both offense and defense. The reality is that Rutgers might have to accept that the defense will be flawed especially rebounding and concentrate instead on having the best offensive players get the most minutes and win games scoring 80 points.Such a strategy assumes the coaching staff will install a half court offense to attack a zone defense creating 3 point shots from the corners.
The NBA plays very little defense during the regular season and games are won by the team making the most 3 pointers.Right now its unclear what is the winning strategy for Rutgers with problems both on offense and defense.
We gave up 79 points in 79 possessions, although admittedly some of that came from the forced TOs late. As big of a problem was averaging fewer than 1 PPP against one of the worst defenses in CBB. JWill showed his HM experience on both ends in the second half, was impactful defensively and got to the lineWe just gave up 79pts to Kenneshaw State and people are saying "but we need to keep our defensive players on floor"?
At what point does a "defensive player" stop being a defensive player and just a negative at both ends of the court?
At least the offensive players might score more while being bad defensively.
The alternative is players provide no offense while also being bad defensively.
