Nike Currently Gives $130,000 to RU for Uniform Contract

We own very little of what you or whomever deems is OUR market. Maybe we own central NJ. That's about it. If Rutgers apparel sold well in stores we'd see it all over the area over other college teams. We don't. The market doesn't lie. Our brand is lousy.

A lot more people in Central Jersey than there are in Syracuse's area.

Yeah, that's why every major cable provider in our area upped their fees within months of us joining.

Tons of eyeballs in our area.

As someone who used to work for Adidas (recently), they're catching up on Nike in a lot of ways. Regarding technology, things like boost (which is now in Cleats and basketball shoes), the Ultimate tees and such are as good if not better than comparable Nike technology.

Regarding brands, Superstars sell gangbusters, on par with Roshis. The ultraboost uncaged, tubulars, and yeezys are extremely popular.

The anti-adidas rep is starting to evaporate.
You kind of just made my point. NIke is still an athletic manufacturer first and a fashion company second. While Adidas lost focus for the better part of 25 years to become a fashion company.

To say that Superstars ultraboost and Yeezys are extremely popular is great from a fashion company not so much from an athletic company.

Let's get the uniforms right please.

I tried to like the last set, but the numbers looked like an aborted soccer kit set and the chainmail print was distracting.

Swap the orange out for scarlet and the green out for black.

Slap a Block R outlined in black on the helmet call it a day.

If they want to be creative, do so with the base layer:

Swap the "L" for the knight:

Change the "feathers" motif on the arms to chainmail (this is where it actually makes sense to use it, IMO).

On the days we play Wisconsin or Nebraska, have a scarlet helmet ready:

(But with a Block R outlined in black -- obviously).

Not bad....

Helmet stays red though for home games. All white for the road, like it is now. Throw in the "Stars and Stripes" R for Academy games, 9/11 or Veteran's Day.

LOVE the block numbers. Yes please!

Not sure what you mean about the "feather" thing?

There is a very faint feathering effect on the Ville base layer. You might need to turn the contrast up on your monitor to see it as the gradient is quite negligible.

Got it.

I thought you meant change the feather on the Knighthead to chainmail. LOL

Would be very pleased it this is what they come up with. Hopefully with no red pants.

Not sure if you read the first part of my post. The BRAND of Adidas is rising because of superstars and Yeezys. The athletic technology is on the rise because of things like boost, primeknit, techfit, etc. Nike has no real response to technology like boost. (Which is now in more than just running.)

Don't get me wrong, I personally prefer Nike. I just think it's over dramatic to act like Adidas is a rinky-dink company.

Do you really think our brand is better than Syracuse's? Do you think Rutgers apparel sells better than Syracuse apparel? It doesn't. Otherwise we'd be getting much better deals.

That's similar to what I've been hoping for & posting, which is similar to Auburn's unis & UL's old unis:

We need helmet stripes. Also, I hope Adidas doesn't use the same textured pattern that's on all of its unis.

I like these UGA concepts but with the same leg striping as the sleeves, like UL unis above:

I'm in the minority but I'd bring back the silver helmets & mix in the white & red helmets. I also wouldn't mind silver pants, like KST, Raiders.

I agree we need some stripes on the helmet. The all red with just the white block R is too damn plain and boring compared to most teams.
