Big one! Watch out for Homewood cooking. Gotta think the squad has a lot of confidence after last week.

I think they have a fairly young team but are still pretty good. Hope we can jump to an early lead and frustrate them a bit. Two years ago? we beat them twice in one season, so it is very possible. Critical game as 2 of the 6 teams will not go onto tournament and 3 of the teams are top 5 caliber. Hopefully we will join them.

Probably should say a lot of their key players are young. Leading scorer is a freshmen, goalie is a sophomore and their FO guy is a sophomore.

This is huge. Huge huge huge. If we can pull out a win, we’ll have a home game next against Maryland which we’ll basically be playing with house money. A loss here and we’ll have to find a way to make up for it. Fortunately we don’t have any bad OOC losses, but we also don’t have a signature OOC win either. Whatever we did last week, I hope we can do it again. That was a completely different team that has now made things interesting.

I know I sound like a broken record but the injury bug was really killing us with key players/positions, attack, goalie and FO. Now that everyone is on field, they have some confidence and are clicking. We need Harryman out there.

They are playing some older guys at key spots, namely their other attackman and a number of middies. They aren't playing any younger, newer faces than us.

Hopkins was one of the teams I was interested in this season with the shot clock. Gone are their inherent advantages. Their coaching staff has been very defensive oriented. Deliberate. The shot clock, even with all of their talk, is not something they are comfortable with. When tuirnovers happen, can their coach live it or put pressure on the team making them play tight. To date, I think they have struggled with that a bit.

But they have a lot of talent and it's their homecoming game. This would be another great win.

That's why I amended it to say a lot of their key players. Our key players are all juniors and seniors. Mullins, Jr., Charalambide is really a senior, Harryman Senior, Eddelman Sr. +, Presser, Senior. My point is that we have a good chance with seasoned players while they are still young and perhaps not as adept to handling the pressure. Next year they will be even better.

I agree, huge win if they play like last week.

Charalambides is a sophomore on the field. This is really his second year playing.

Definitely have some experienced guys in older spots. Let's hope we see them all tomorrow and if we do, they are effective. Heard some not great news.

I know but don't you think he benefited greatly being around the program, the team and maturity in general? Freshmen are still trying to figure out where their classes are and how to avoid the RU screw.

Absolutely, but nothing is as important as game experience. He hasn't touched a real game in two years. That's a lot of missed real world experience.

The good news is he's a super mature kid. I have no idea of what will happen, but if we got another year out of him before he moves on, I would be happy.

He's highly coveted in the NLL. I've seen him projected as high as number 1 in the draft right now. 99% of kids wouldn't leave for that (though it is happening now) but he will likely have a grad degree at that point. Not much left to do.

That all said, I know that kids is a grinder who loves RU. It's just great to see him out there doing his thing again. The best story in college lacrosse.

Lots of warriors on that team. Suiting up won't be the issue. How effective they can be might be. But those kids are gritty and give it everything they have. We will get that.

I know one kid that was banged up last week...missed practice time before OSU , but practiced all this week ;)

I have not heard anything else...I expect the team to be ready

I just had a nice dinner on the inner harbor....I'm ready...if only that mattered for anything ;)

Big opportunity tomorrow!

Everything you said here is spot on...as you know, AC is in year 4 and was already old (or older) for a freshman when he came in...he's a grown man...and he's fun to watch...need him to keep doing his thing

Going slightly off topic, it brings up something I always find interesting...actual ages of players...youth all the way up through college...I've never checked to see if rosters have actual birth dates listed, but I think many would be stunned at what they find...a high number of 19/20 year old freshman playing D1 lacrosse....

No hold backs or PG years in my house...couldn't afford it ;)

Makes what 6 did last year crazy as he's very young....44 is a very young sophomore as well although he's played a lot of D1 lacrosse for a sophmore...6 keeps getting better...he's got a bright future.

PG years and redshirt years offer up a distinct advantage...kids that don't PG or redshirt can sometimes get behind the 8 ball just based on age alone...it's still a big physical advantage even in college...big difference between an 18/19 year old and a 21/22 year old...

I just find the subject interesting...especially when I watch youth (high school) teams from the Midwest come out and play in high end events and you can tell when your playing a team full of "hold backs"...a couple years back we played a team that pretty much every player was a year older...but in a younger class...talk about an advantage

Good stuff fellas...thx!

For me the word for this team today is opportunity.

This team has an opportunity to win this game and set the season back on the right path. Winning today likely puts us in the driver seat to make the B1G tournament and from there who knows what can happen.

Opportunity.

Grab it.

Good luck, RU.

Get that conference road win!!!

@Caliknight Is it the style of defense we play that appears to allow our opponents to get more wide-open shots than we do when on O?
