NO GOLDEN SHOWERS PLEASE!!! (Video Lowlights)

Wow. Looks like Miami hasn't been recruiting very well. The NC game was particularly disturbing because the players were not trying.

And Schiano has a career .500 record at Rutgers. So yea lets settle for average again

No coach is going to be worse than Kyle Flood.
That reminds me of something.

You do realize that Golden was already fired for the UNC game right?

The Clemson game is damning enough. Watch those highlights - hell, watch the game and then tell me you'd want that guy to be your head coach.

But hey, if we want to be Kansas in the Charlie Weis era or Washington under Ty Willingham, then by all means. Bring in the "proven" guy who flamed spectacularly.

When your players quit on you there is very little to nothing that can be done. Whether its Pop-Warner, Middle or High School, college or Pro's once begin faking injuries or avoid tackles or blocks a coach is done.

I cannot take credit for this but this was written by SPR on NJ.com. "Let me get this straight. Golden takes a program over in Temple that was worse than RU was when saint Schiano came. Gets them to respectability in 2 years not 5 and goes to a Miami program that SELF imposes a 2 year bowl ban on itself after he gets there, doesn't tell him about it and he actually STAYS to see it thru, oh and he loses 9 scholarships along the way and they fire him and we don't want him? He had 8 4 stars sign last year, not including Kiy, and 8 more 4 stars with 7 top 100 ESPN recruits lined up this year DESPITE the idiots in Miami flying banners over games knee capping him and we don't want him? We thought the '12 class was our best ever it wasn't even close to what he had this year OR last. C'mon let's get real Al Golden would be terrific here. Embrace the jersey guy."

Yeah, can't look at one game and make judgement. Remember when Clemson got smoked by Dana and West Virginia? Calls to fire Dabo were very loud then. Look at him now.

Does Golden's star lose any "shine" because both Addazio and now Rhule also won at Temple. I understand he was the first, and for that he deserves kudos, but is it not playing out that he may have done really well there rather than achieved the impossible?

Canes fan here. Golden was fired the day after the Clemson game and which was before the the UNC game. As a fanbase you want Al Golden as far away from Rutgers as possible. He is awful in every way possible and his excuse making and used car salesman approach will only piss you off even more. DO NOT WANT

Golden may be good with the right strong staff. He can recruit there is no question about that.

Franklin is a used car salesman and he has the 4th ranked recruiting class this year. I would take that any day of the week. AG needs top flight assistance though.

It wasn't one game.

I am not advocating that Golden would be some kind of slam dunk hire. Far from it. However, I don't think he is as bad as many here are portraying him to be. If you look at his body of work - he is probably an average coach. At Temple, he won some and lost some. Same at Miami. He has games where he got smoked but at the same time, he's also beaten some ranked opponents. He is an average game day coach, but an excellent recruiter. He is your typical 7-9 win every year kinda guy.

Golden is, what many here thought Flood was supposed to be. AND were willing to put up with Flood till the "B1G" money rolled in. Funny how all of a sudden we raised the bar significantly.

Looking at the absolute record is misleading. Schiano went 3-20 combined in his first two years at RU. He inherited arguably the worst program in Division I-A. It was going to take time to turn the program around.

Someone posted that Schiano sub-500 CONFERENCE RECORD after 2006.

Yeah, a real proven winner.

That's not true. He had only one sub .500 season after 2006. It was the 2010 season, when the team lost the final 6 games after LeGrand's injury.

Correct.

He had a sub-500 CONFERENCE RECORD after 2006.

And he lost to Tulane at home (I was there - ugh) (and FIU?) BEFORE LeGrand was injured, and losing the Army game at the time of the injury.

He beat Cupcake city, baby.
Try another excuse.

Fair enough. What did he do post 2006? What's he excuse for not winning in a terrible Big East? He couldn't beat WVU.
