Boy did they get hosed by the refs. One of the worst calls in history how 3 referees can miss the guy blocking the shot through the rim is beyond me. That was a 4 point swing. And there were so many other bad calls in that game. The reffing has been god awful in this tournament

Yeah that was funny but if that call went against Rutgers that would have been me!!

Atrocious. Ref shouldn't do another game this year.

They really screwed the pooch when they made a horrendous situation worse by giving Collins a T.

Great 2nd half completely ruined

What an effing shame

Agreed and I wasn't even rooting for NW, the officiating in the NCAAs is usually very refreshing but man it has made some games unwatchable. Wish the refs would stay out of it but it seems every game one teams gets off to a start of like 5 fouls to 1... and it's usually not the "right" team if u know what I mean

The kid is a kid . . . . so I let that slide.

The reffing, on the other hand, was horrid. The blown goaltending call was a game changer. Feel bad for NWU. They were so close to an historic upset. Big 10 is certainly not embarrassing itself despite all of the naysaying by the pundits.

is that Collins' kid? Geez he was crying with 7 minutes left, there was plenty of game left
It was reported that kid is the son of Northwestern's AD
We should remember he’s just a kid and just got overly emotional.
Hopefully years from now he'll be able to laugh off all the memes using his emotions to make a point.

I forgot just two more blatantly bad calls
1. The flagrant foul on Northwestern the player from Gonzaga basically ran into him what a joke
2. When I think Lindsay from NW gets his fourth foul trying to run around a screen when the Gonzaga player moves and they call the foul on him WOW

I am just glad that wasn't Rutgers out there there might have been some broken things in my house!!

Yes , there were bad calls in the game,At the same time fans are forgetting the horrendous performance by Northwestern in the first half which gave Gonzaga a safe margin to retain the lead in the second half. This game followed a similar pattern to Purdue/Iowa State where Purdue had a 19 point lead in the second half, gave it all back but in this case went on a 5 point run to win.

Basketball is a game of runs and there are no safe leads with the 3 point shot and the 30 second time clock.Teams must keep scoring until opponents bring in the substitutes as a sign of submission.
