If we miss a bowl this year, it won't be because we got squeezed out. There are 42 bowl games, so that's 84 teams. (Officially there are 44 bowl games, but that includes the NC, and the Celebration Bowl which is MEAC vs. SWAC.) 84 out of 131. 64%. If we go 5-7, we're likely in.

Nine B1G tie-ins:

TBD - Redbox Bowl (San Francisco) vs. PAC-12
12/27 - Quick Lane Bowl (Detroit) vs. MAC
12/28 - Guaranteed Rate Bowl (Phoenix) vs. Big 12
12/29 - Pinstripe Bowl (NYC) vs. ACC
12/30 - Duke's Mayo Bowl (Charlotte) vs. ACC
12/30 - Las Vegas Bowl vs. PAC-12
1/1 - Outback Bowl (Tampa) vs. SEC
1/1 - Citrus Bowl (Orlando) vs. SEC
1/1 - Rose Bowl (Pasadena) vs. PAC-12

Plus of course the possibility of either the Cotton or Orange on 12/31 in the National Semifinals.

If the B1G gets a NC playoff bid, then we have 10.

Thought that the Charlotte Bowl (Belk to Mayo) was a tie in only for the 2020, 2022 and 2024 seasons, thus Wisconsin's appearance last year was an every other year deal. Could be wrong.

anything but Quick lane & Pinstripe
We are guaranteed to never get the Duke's Mayo Bowl in Charlotte. For years the Big East had that tie in bowl and was dying for us to go as my best friend since grade school moved to Charlotte. Not once did we go, even when we were deserving of it, the Providence Mob always found a way to keep us out.

We’ll see. The Gator Bowl folks don’t run that one.

And the B1G likes to spread the wealth, so that can’t hurt either.

Number of bowls should be capped at 1/6th of the number of FBS teams. No one outside of the top third should play in a post-season game.

Why? Because some folks believe there are too many bowl games?

There's an easy solution to that problem. Decide which 22 (using your cutoff) bowl games you're interested in, and ignore the others.

Planning to come back to the States for Christmas. Will be the first time back since July, 2019.
Sure would be nice to make a stop in Phoenix or Vegas on my way back.

Of course let's win some games first.

We’ll end up playing Duke in the Duke’s Mayo Bowl.
That would get a big crowd of red in the stands whenever it happens, regardless of the opponent.

Good spot.

I have gone to the guaranteed rate bowl(under different names) for the last 6 years. It’s always a blast. If you buy Fiesta bowl tickets you can get that game for like 10 bucks.
