I would guess because he has not been linked to being Islamic and yelling "God is great" prior to shooting and he does not appear to be a member of a gang. Nice try though.

I honestly don't know what would motivate a person to do such a thing. The first shooting..angry. Taking some time and coming back for more..sickness. Fanaticism, anger, illness, lack of education, hopelessness, stupidity....and more = quite the cocktail for bad behavior.

Bottom line, Too much of this crap these days. WAY too much.

I have been at that crackle barrel several times when in Kalamazoo over night and a block away at my usually hotel stay. Very upsetting. Lucky for the couple before he got caught blew him off and called for another Uber driver

This guy was not, by definition, a terrorist. No evidence that his violence was an attempt to intimidate or coerce, or otherwise alter personal or societal behavior. As far as we can tell, he just liked to turn living people into dead people.

I have no problem with using the term "terrorist" for white guys when it fits. Timothy McVeigh is the example that comes most immediately to mind. Or Timothy Roeder, who assassinated abortion provider George Tiller. (BTW, I consider myself pro-life.) But the term doesn't fit here.

No problem with calling him a thug though.
