Ohio State Game Income-Rutgers Stadium or The Meadowlands ?

As the great TV philosopher George Constanza once said: "Its not a lie if you believe it."

Again, even with a possible increase from one game by moving a home game to Metlife, may not make up for loss of season tix sales, sponsorship, booster donations, etc....by taking the biggest home game of the season off-campus.

Hard to sell suites, club seats, season tix, raise millions in booster donations, maintain stadium sponsorship, etc...if you take the biggest home game away from campus.

Baloney. Maryland doesn't have a problem with this, and they have more suites and booster donations, than we do.

Location Location, Location and Money Money, Money.
MetLife puts enough money i.e. $2.5 to $3M above our home game draw and give higher roller alums suites at met life and season ticket holder do not get less then 20 yard line seats but decent seats 30-50 yard line. And JH make it an event/happening Pregame perks and post game firework, band innovative party atmosphere, etc. and it will work

Don't you remember all the complaints about seat assignments at MetLife from the Army game several years ago. The lower bowl at MetLife is smaller than the lower bowl at Rutgers Stadium. That means that except for some of the people who end up with seats on the lower 50, every season ticket holder ends up with seats further from the 50 and/or in a higher deck than they have at Rutgers Stadium.

How much is dynamic pricing for this game. Rutgers should sell all remaining tickets for $250.

Just "give" high roller boosters suites at Met Life?

Ah...those suites are privately own...and those suite holders own first rights to all events in the stadium...so why should they just "give" RU high rollers those suites for any game played in that stadium?

Here is the explanation of why UMD is doing this. If not for the contractual obligation with the Ravens, the UMD-PSU game would be in College Park.

My understanding of why the game is at M&T Bank Stadium is because when Maryland was still in the ACC there was an agreement for them to play Virginia Tech at M&T. After the move to the B1G they were still obligated by contract to play a game there

I am on the 30 yard line, I was in the endzone for the Army game. Not interested in this.

I have to believe Rutgers would net more money playing the game at home rather than East Rutherford. Besides keeping the ticket revenue, Rutgers would make additional money from concessions , parking etc. Also there would be an enormous boost to the local economy , restaurants , etc. For me the one big plus in having a game at East Rutherford is that it would likely result in even greater media exposure due to its proximity to NYC.But that's it.

Rutgers isn't going to play the game unless they net significantly more money than they would at home. Syracuse got 4.7 million to play a Notre Dame. We get 5 million plus, well play in the Meadowlands.

I don't think that's enough. With dynamic ticket prices, you have to figure that Rutgers sells about $3MM in tickets for a high profile game at Rutgers Stadium. Add another $1MM for parking and concessions, and you are up to $4MM. I don't think it makes sense to move a high profile game to the Meadowlands for $1MM ($40 incremental from each of 25,000 season seats) and abandon the strategy of using high profile games to create demand for season tickets and to generate increased donations from your existing donor base.

Moving a high profile game to the Meadowlands is an example of short-term actions at the expense of long-term strategy.

When we held the de facto Big East championship game in 2012 against Louisville on a ESPN Thursday night special, Yankee Stadium asked us to move the game there, and TP told them to stick it ! Hahaha
