Once again zero traffic control entering RAC

The cop posted at the corner of Hospital Road and Avenue E sitting in his car watching traffic back up onto route 18 and doing absolutely nothing about it.
It's pretty ridiculous that they can't find a fix for this...but then again I've yet to see one thing that would make me think they're even attempting the notion of a fix.

The biggest joke is that DIA is charged for the cop to be there and do squat. Might as well save the money if they're just going to sit in the car.

Why do they really need to stop every car and collect little tabs on parking passes in the scRlet lot

To make matters worse, everyone feels they have to hand the attendant the hang tag and then the attendant has to tear off the stub and then hand you back the hang tag.

Just rip off the stub off before you get there hand the attendant the stub and keep the line moving!

Same situation for the football games.

The attendants really need to just tell cars to keep moving. Despite the signs at the entrances that say in large letters "SCARLET PASS ONLY" or "GREEN PASS ONLY" you get dopes who stop and ask every person in a neon jacket if they can park in that lot.

They collected my tab going into green lot. This is the first time all year.
I have NEVER had my tab collected going into the green lot.
Let me also state AGAIN that if they blocked Hospital Rd right behind the RAC and had those in the Yellow, Green & Game Day lots enter only from Sutton Lane you would not have cross traffic before and after the games. Those in the Red Lot would enter Hospital Rd only from Avenue E. Use both lanes of Hospital Rd to go in one direction.

Just blow by the attendant without handing him the stub. My silent protest to this traffic control stupidity.

Sounds like a Fan Advisory board suggestion to be made to their first meeting with AD Hobbs. Bet he can't wait for this! Ha ha

Fan advisory board is over. We were thanked on the court at the Wake game. I think they were announcing application process for another round, but I am not sure if they did that with Julie being fired the day before, and Hobbs just coming in that afternoon. I imagine it would be up to him if he wanted to continue it. Julie was at all of our meetings.

In addition to the lazy cop and the worthless attendants you have the people who park during the day in the green lot and decide to leave when everyone is trying to get into the lot! Now the attendants have to stop the flow of traffic to allow these idiots to get out! It took me a half hour to get from Route 18 to the green lot when there were only a little over 3000 people in attendance! What is going to happen at a game where a decent crowd actually shows up?

Another amusing parking note ... the Scarlet lot, all of whose spots are a remarkably easy walk from the arena, and easy in and out before and after the game, has "coned off" spots for who knows who. Stop with the "coned off" (reserved?) spots. The staff needed to jockey the yellow cones preserving those parking spots would be better used directing traffic and tearing off parking stubs.

They "cone off" several of the best spots in the green lot, too. For good reason, though. It's for handicapped parking. The labeled handicapped spots are often filled.

See my post above. It's people like you that slow things down. Your driving to the Green Lot from Avenue E and blocking traffic from making the left turn into the Green Lot. They should block off Hospital Rd behind the RAC and make it 2 lanes from Avenue E to the Red Lot and 2 lanes from Sutton Lane to the Game Day, Yellow and Green Lots. They would reverse the direction to leave so it eliminates cross traffic.
Just look at Football. Only Green and Scarlet can enter and leave using River Rd. Yellow has to head towards Rt 18.

I think this stuff is VERY important. We can't control the product on the floor, but we may have some control in the ease getting in and out. Adding 20 minutes each way to travel time can be the knock out punch for some.

I love the fact I can leave my house 50 minutes before game time and get home 40 minutes after. Devils would be 90 minutes and forget NYM or NYY.

I've seen many of the "coned off" parkers at the Scarlet lot. The parkers are not handicapped. Athletics Dept staff. School administrators. Donors. Friends of the program -- think front-row attendees.

Parking attendants are horrible. No excuse for traffic to back up for a half capacity crowd at a small arena.

I found free parking down by the Livingston Gym..yeah it took me 15 minutes to walk but it was worth it and I can avoid the traffic next time by going down river road and up the back way

I know free parking can be found, but that's not the point. People either aren't doing their jobs or it's just plain poorly organized. It's always a new adventure getting in there.

Based on the backup on Route 18, I was expecting 6000 people too. Got to the Green lot and started my "WTF is going on?"
Got inside and continued saying "WTF is going on?"

There HAS TO be a better way.
