He had pressers after every practice. The lack of any news today is killing me, though I guess Ash will make up for it by having others coaches and players available to the media on some days.

One thing I miss? Hmmm I'll get back to you.

But let's have some fun with this. what one thing do people miss here?

Ok no more 1-0 jokes?

The Kyle Flood show at Brother Jimmy's was not bad either, something to watch mid week during the season.

No news on a Coach Ash call in show so far.

Those daily pressers were useless, he just talked about the weather and how hard the team worked

With most coaches, it gets tiring hearing their same BS/coach spin every day. Talk when you have something to say, not everyday where little changes....

Yeah he spoke every day and said nothing new, giving coach speak at every turn. What I saw from Mehringer on Monday was very refreshing and more interesting than any interview with Flood I saw during a fall camp. I will give Kyle this though...IMO he was a good representative of the university when he was interviewed on BTN, at B1G Media Day, on WFAN, etc.

I generally took it the opposite way. I think most people around the Big Ten thought he wasn't a good coach, but Rutgers was too cheap to replace him.

I think he gave a good interview. He has a good personality IMO. A lot of coaches do not.Trust me I am not endorsing anything Flood whatsoever. But I thought he was ok in those spots.

I think Flood's greatest strength was that he really presented himself well. He was always poised and gave a nice interview. His greatest weakness, besides not being at all fair in handling the QB's, was the inane note taking during the game. Talk about, "bad optics."

But he never really said anything, which I guess is par for the course with most coaches.

They still kept me occupied. Ash also uses plenty of "coachspeak." You have to, but not quite as much as Flood I will admit.

I miss his notebook....and the scribbling.

Have to agree. I didn't think Flood could coach a razor blade out of a wet paper bag, but he did come off well in a interview

Flood was an amateur in every sense of the word. Compared to professor Ash, he was a schoolboy in need of remedial classes.

And Ash/Hobbs >>>>>>>>> Flood/Herman in every category, including competence, ethics, intelligence and professionalism. It's not even close people. It's actually amazing that Flood and Herman were ever even hired. I still can't figure out how people like that can rise to such high positions.

To be honest with you, the way RU seems to perpetually shoot itself in the foot, I'm surprised Flood and Herman didn't have longer tenures at RU. If RU could have brought those two in a decade earlier RU football would be at the Pop Warner level right about now.
