One year Minnesota, the next Nebraska

The central question remains: How are other schools turning it around so quickly but not us?
what schools? How many years has RU been in the bottom of NCAA team quality, 25 years? Idk who you're comparing us to but you have to think of our program like the football team. We've never done anything really and we don't have any historical success. Show me a team that you think is turning It around quickly and I'll show you the successful years they've had in the last 3 decades. RU has had none

perhaps in the Lloyd Christmas so you're telling me there's a chance sense of it. But there isn't really any realistic chance for Rutgers to get an at large bid to the tourney next season. You'd need every returning player to take a massive leap forward and several newcomers to make big impacts.

While Pikiell is improving things, they still aren't that close. Currently #128 in KenPom and 2-7 in a down year for the Big Ten. Realistically have to go 10-8 or better in conference play to get an at large bid. Only 2 conference schools in last 4 years have gotten in at 9-9 and 1 10-8 team got left out.

To me something like a 7-11 record in conference play is a reasonable hope next season if things progress for Rutgers and then maybe push for .500+ the following season.

That's true about the conference bids. I am not banking they make it because like you said, that would mean a stronger OOC schedule, which would make it tougher for the team. Take into consideration wins in the big ten tournament as well. Rutgers is a shooter or two away. Right now, they are hanging with great teams because of their defense. Bring in a shooter or two, and there is a chance.

From a guy who was sky high on this team (and still thinks 16-15 is a shot, though that makes the game at Illinois a must win )....the reality is that we are a start over

In my book...want to get to the NCAAs...we have a couple of those pieces for year three under Pikiell

1.) Eugene as a junior is a perfect player in his a role ...8/5 guy off the bench for his junior and senior year

2) baker is a legit starting guard at this level and should be a 12 ppg big ten starter for the next 3 years

Very confident, this time best year we will have another two building block pieces out of Carter, Mathis, Harper and kiss...and say we have four rock solid pieces plus what we add in the class of 2019, plus maybe a more developed Issa and doucoure
