OT: 2024 NJ HS Football Season…

I haven’t missed many RFH games all season and my son was begging me to take him but I’ve got a work event I couldn’t miss.
If anyone is going or watching a stream please provide as many updates as possible!

Yeah, but can we be honest here? Alot of south jersey publics operate as privates with how rampantly they recruit. Glassboros RB who ran for 400 yards doesnt even live in glassboro, he lives in hammonton and transferred in this year for example. A good chunk of the TRN kids dont live is toms river as well.

Pair that with the fact there arent any private schools in south jersey taking the talent out of publics leading to the publics naturally having more talent.

If all the kids in north jersey stayed in district and there were no privates, north jersey would slaughter the south.
Slaughter them?...Cmon...Yes be Honest...North Jersey Parochials also have players from Shore Conference and South Jersey and tri-state area

Shabazz is up 16-13 with 5 minutes left in the first half.

You got kids from Willingboro, Trenton, and Tom’s River, etc playing for Joes, DePaul, Bergen, etc.

Besides, North Pubs would be just even with the South Pubs. There’s some great programs down there’s with youth feeders going to their schools.

How many Phillipsburg athletes play for a NJ Parochial? Best Group 4 Team in North Jersey...Lets see how they do tonight against South Jerseys Winslow Twp

South jersey pubs make shabazz look like they barely recruit. South Jersey is a total joke with recruiting. It's pathetic

Winslows a big recruiting school. Alot of those kids don't live in Winslow. You guys are probably wondering how I know this. It's easy. Check out their roster, click on players and then you can search two things.

1) Their hudl's to see what other school they came from
2) tax records to see where their parents reside

If the state ever wanted to clamp down on recruiting, they could hire me for 1 day and I'd tell them in 1 day where every kid on each team they want to investigate actually lived haha

Maybe I’m alone here but I hope njsiaa cracks down on public school recruiting and loading up rosters with kids who dont even live in the district theyre representing. It kinda takes some fun out of public high school football where its supposed to be the guys you grew up with vs the guys they grew up with. All of the champions outside of rumson are loaded with kids who dont even live in the districts they represent. Glassboro, old tappan (magnet), winslow, TRN are basically just all star teams pulling from all over the place

@tico brown seems to support public school recruiting but I just dont get why

I just think any of the regional schools are no different than the privates. Respect to the single town schools that develop their players.

IDK why you called me out on this. I just leave you alone with your posts. But you’re calling me out on this for no reason.

Also don’t know why no one said a word when Washington Twp, West Deptford, Haddonfield and others was/ is winning but now has a hard on when Shabazz, Glassboro, Winslow, and others are winning.

Oh I’ve been saying it about all of them forever. I call balls and strikes whether theyre suburban schools or city schools.

And I’m calling you out because you seem to have a real hard on against suburban schools while city schools could play with 12 players on the field and you always find a way to defend whatever they do. I just think youre biased here

Alot of regional schools are legit and have kids just from those specific towns. For example, I went to West Essex which represents 4 towns, Roseland, Essex Fells, Fairfield and North Caldwell. Essex Fells only sends around 15-20 kids to West Essex per grade. In total youre around 280-300 kids per grade and therefore you land in group 3. They dont pull kids from bergen county to come play at west essex. West essex will just always be kids from those 4 towns.

RIIIIIIIIIGHT!!!

I just try to post the scores, locations, and whatever happens on the field for all teams in this thread all year. Never disrespected any kid or even program… just the zealot adults who 1. Lives through a bunch of 17 YOs and 2. Those Who talks crap about one side while his side does no wrong.

But hey, all you do is twist things into whatever you want all the time. That’s why I stopped posting HS stuff halfway through the season but whatever. It’s all yours, Big Boy!!!

I just call out the public programs who openly recruit. Suburban or urban, dont matter. Its pathetic when done.

Im from Roseland. Not only did we at west essex not recruit but we would actually lose kids to parochials. Is what it is. No problem when kids go parochial. The problem I have is a public school calling themselves, lets say Glassboro or Haddonfield and instead being loaded up with kids not living in the Glassboro or Haddonfield districts.

You wanna recruit? Cool. Join non-public B then.

Well its all over for the Public Schools..The South was 4-1 against North...3 of them were blowouts

Group 1- Glassboro ( WJFL)
Group 2- Rumson-Fair Haven ( Shore Conference)
Group 3- Old Tappan ( Super Football Conference)
Group 4- Winslow ( WJFL)
Group 5- Toms River North (Shore Conference)

NJSIAA is the NJ high school version of the NCAA when it comes to recruiting violations.

Well in defense of them, they dont have the time or financial resources to really investigate it at the length of which it needs to be done.

On the other hand, its really not that hard to do if they wanted to simplify it. Even if they didnt bother with the kids who live out of district and go to their recruited school all the way since frosh year, just investigate every transfer.

Like for example, one of Shabazz’s starting corners lives in parsipanny. Like come on LOL.

Glassboros star running back lives in Hammonton.

All the njsiaa simply has to do is just tell every transfer that they need to provide
A) the address they are moving from
B) the address they are moving to
C) we’re not going to visit everyone but we will be doing random visits in season and if its found that you continue to live at your “former” address, aka your real address, your team automatically will retroactively forfeit every game you played in for them.

The recruit of kids from other towns to public schools would end overnight

That would pretty much do it, but the NJSIAA has very little human resources. Other than the executive board, it’s made up of member schools and politics take over. It used to be the publics trying to stop the parochials from recruiting. Once that got stonewalled, (some) publics just went with “ if you can’t beat em…” And here we are.

Imo even simply asking for

1) prior address you had registered with your prior school, Hammonton for example and

2) new address registered with your new school Glassboro for example

3) along with a waiver theyd have to sign indicating this is where they are actually residing along with written notice from prior landlord that your lease is terminated or a copy of a deed transfer in the sale of your prior home. And signing that you agree to let njsiaa into your home to confirm your address upon 1 hour notice.

4) if a team gets caught with kids who dont live in district playing for them they are automatically disqualified from playoffs

Even if they only ultimately check 10 players total a year, the fear of it alone would stop it.

I hear what you’re saying, but who’s going to do the investigation to challenge the actual domicile? The first case I remember is the wrestlers from Pascack Hills (1980s?). A wealthy father provided an apartment address for his son and another wrestler. NJSIAA challenged it, resulting in lawsuits if memory serves me, and the case was dropped. As I said, NJSIAA=NCAA

I hear ya. But they just did this to elizabeth this year. No reason they cant do it.

Also I think the mere threat of it would stop all the fvckery of adult coaches treating teenagers playing football as if theyre recruiting like theyre a p5 school

Can’t parents rent ?
If you owned rental properties , you would know people rent

Didn't they get Vinnie Ascolese and the North Bergen program for doing that ?
Yup. He was basically running a sweatshop. He actually had the kids living in north bergen in an apartment though believe it or not. And as soon as the season would end hed kick them out. Not good

"believe it or not" ? I lived in North Bergen at that time. I knew those people.
BTW, I don't think the program has recovered.
