Jokes asides props to Butto and Garret. Great pitching performances. Until the bats come around this may be the only way we win.

Much needed. Once the offense gets going it'll obviously look a lot better. Pitching has been good. I will say Stearns basically needs a bench re-work.

That he should be killed for it. Bad decision. You don't ask players who can't bunt to bunt. It's not something they teach to middle of the order hitters in the minors. You don't ask to do it there.
Mendoza made the same decision in the ninth of game 2, with Marte. Marte got the bunt down, Taylor followed with his hit, and everyone is happy.

But I guess Marte is of an era where everyone was taught to bunt before they got to the majors.

Marte was bunting on his own there it appeared. Marte also can bunt, Baty cannot. It's apples and oranges.

Unless you are worried about ruining the confidence of Acura, Gilbert etc…. Bring them up now. Have to think think they will do better than .050
Presuming they’re ready , I really want to see Acuna / Gilbert playing regularly come July / August.

Get their feet wet so they’re ready to step in for 2025.

Would have been great for Mauricio as well.

Hopefully Jett Williams is also a go for 2025 at some point.

Who was it that said Pete only hits meaningless bombs? Listen, if the Mets are playing at .500 when we flip the calendar to May after this start, then Mets management will be printing postseason tickets in September.

Happy they won. Wasn’t able to watch it. Saved what could have been a disaster of a day. Take 2 of 3 against cincy

Has anyone else been at least mildly interested in the drop in velocity with Diaz? His numbers are excellent, and it’s earlier than early, so I’m hoping that it’s just a temporary anomaly.

I'd be concerned if he isn't consistently 98-100 come early May. He did have to shut down way longer than anytime in his baseball life. The legs/lower body play the biggest part of generating velocity and who knows if he's at the point of 100% trusting his Achilles.

Christian Scott AAA debut. Lots of K's and swings and missed. Also gave up a couple of homers.

Seismologists are reporting that the earthquake hit because the Mets finally won a game !

Yesterdays win was seismic !

More aftershocks are expected when Lindor gets his average above .150 and Mets have a game when they score in excess of 3 runs !

😂

Just kidding fellow Mets fans !

Hope everyone is ok!

That earthquake was intense !

So it's a positive omen? Like when Cespedes saw the yellow parakeet flying around during batting practices, so he put on the yellow sleeve and suddenly he started hitting the stuffing out of the ball? Sweet!

0-4 at home in front of the Mets faithful no way to start a season.
A day I won't soon forget. A 4.8 earthquake in the tri state area, followed by the grandeur of Opening Day at Yankees Stadium and a 3-0 loss in front of the Yankees faithful is no way to start a homestand. Notice I didn't go to The Dead Zone and post this. Learn grasshopper.

You know that 4 is a bigger number than 1, right ?

Alex - can I please buy some hits and some runs? Pretty Pretty Please !

What did we do to deserve this?

I get hitters go into slumps / funks but this is a 7 game stretch that is horrid by even Met standards and I saw some awful Mets teams in the mid to late 70's / early 80's etc

Lindor watch : Average at .038.

His next hit will surely bring some after shocks...:)
