OT: 2024 NY Yankees Season Thread

In all fairness he was playing with 2 broken fingers...as someone who has done the same its very plainful. Probably why his bat was dragging slow thru strike zone. Seemed like the barrel was always way behind..kind if tells me he was having a tough time throwing the hands thru swing
Rizzo is a greatly diminished player, the 2 broken fingers aren't much of a factor.

Dont know what you are watching but Soto is a trash outfielder. He's all ego about $600 mil because he had a super year at the plate batting in front of Judge....not bad protection.
Dude has ZERO heart. He's a Nate Robinson 5* talent that plays to a 3* . Wont be crushed when he signs elsewhere. Let's see if he iba stand alone power hitter with less protection behind him
Why would Soto suddenly have issues hitting without Judge? He has a great history before he was with the Yankees.

When the Yankees were struggling they were awful.
Sometimes it's when you play a team. The Yanks were in an awful stretch when they played the Mets.
BTW, having been around for the Mets championships in 1969 and 1986, I always say that as long as the Mets don't win it all I'm a happy camper. It's been my experience that Mets fans are bad winners....probably because they haven't had enough practice at it.
This has really been my first visit to this Yankees thread. There's a lot of nonsense that goes on here, with a lot of nonsense opinions. Just as there are on the Mets thread. I'm glad, however, that your a happy camper.

It's "you're" btw.
I've gotta throw in that Wednesday, when the Yanks finally were eliminated by what I had become convinced was a better team, I got the joy of bringing my wife home after surgery on Monday. That sort of thing at least for this Yankees fanatic puts things in perspective. I suffer too much with each loss and certainly was hoping for another World Series championship. But the Dodgers pitching was better than I thought. And Freeman was hitting like I had hoped Judge would in the series. And I got my wife back.
I'm okay with finishing second and an American League pennant.
Wait 'til next year.

Jason Day's column in today's WSJ had a great take on the Betts glove incident:

"Honestly, I can't figure out what's worse: A grown adult thinking ripping a baseball from an opposing player is acceptable (or safe) behavior, or the strange 12 hours in which these men were elevated as lovable New York outlaws who may have catalyzed a historic Yankee comeback. Give me a break. Bar them for life. Better yet, give them Jets season tickets"

I don’t know what to think about the glove incident. On the one hand, it’s a real bad look for NY fans. On the other hand, I like the passion of those guys and arguably Mookie stuck his glove into the lion’s mouth… mess with the bull and you get the horns LOL

More like a sea lion from the look of the guy.

I haven’t followed that storyline but wouldn’t be surprised if those dudes are now making big $$$ off the incident that would make any repercussions worth it.

You have become a real asshole! Happens to many people with dementia. Keep posting hundreds of threads that nobody cares about if it makes you happy 🙄
Death, taxes & personel attacks from Shortbus is a board tradition, look,he deleted the post, must have thought better of it, but too many captured it Lmfao!

The Mets won exactly one more game in the NL championship series they lost to the Dodgers than the Yankees did in the World Series.
The Dodgers outscored the Yankees in the five game World Series 25-24.
They outscored the Mets in their six game series 46-27
Can you lower the bar any further? Only one more game, run totals? Lol. No mention of the Central division EZ PASS to get there. No mention of a couple of WS records that will live in infamy. Most HR's in consecutive games by one player. No mention of the greatest comeback in an elimination WS game. No mention of Mr. MAY'S, Buckner moment or his hitting paralysis in October once again. No mention of the worst inning in the history of the WS. This from the Vasity? How far the goal has fallen. Crying that the Yankees were unlucky because they ran into a hot player. That's how 95% of WS are won. When the Mets lost in 2015, I'm pretty sure you and The 3 Amigos said they have nothing to show for 2015. With that said, the Yankees are the laughing stock with nothing to show in 2024 but laughter around the country and how weak the AL was this year. The Mets,Padres,Phillies,Brewers, Braves and of course Dodgers were all better than anything the Yankees had to face.
Soon the Yankees will be transported back to the Horace Clark days or better yet, the f*cking Stump Merrill days. It'll be glorious.

I didn't delete it. Tango did. Tango can dish it out but can't take it! Not surprised. I'm glad others captured it!

I’m sure ShortBus is way nicer in person…LOL…rude dude. I blame myself for getting sucked into his nonsense.

I'll buy you a big umbrella for when the sky is falling 🙄 Just to protect you from the disaster you're predicting for the Yankees. Sleep well it's just all in your mind.
LOL…seriously you can’t read and you clearly don’t understand the Yankee line-up now or in the future…my ENTIRE point was that Yanks need to spend in order to make the playoffs next season. It starts with Soto. Pay him whatever he wants because some team will and Yanks need him especially if Stanton or Judge happen to go down with an injury.
