The return of Rex Ryan ?
Ben Johnson has his pick of any job that opens. It isn’t likely he picks the Jets dysfunctional organization.Contingent Vrabel goes to NE would like to see Ben Johnson coach Jets.
He ll be highly coveted and hopefully offensive weapons like Garrett Wilson / Breece Hall can entice him.
Would like to see Johnson but Woody seems to like hires from the defense side of the ball. Edwards, Mangini, Ryan, Bowles and Saleh.Ben Johnson has his pick of any job that opens. It isn’t likely he picks the Jets dysfunctional organization.
Johnson is going to be very picky about which job he takes, and with several other openings at teams that have a young QB to work with the Jets wouldn’t be at the top of anyone’s list.Would like to see Johnson but Woody seems to like hires from the defense side of the ball. The exception was the "QB Whisperer" Adam Gase and that didn't work out so well.
Even with their win, they are drafting 7. It came down to the tiebreaker math with Carolina, which in turn came down to last night's Detroit-Minnesota game. The Jets needed the Vikings (whom they had played) to lose, this weakening the Jets overall strength of schedule enough to eke ahead of the Panthers. The Jets draft at 6 with a loss today, 8 with a win.
My awful Raiders are picking 6th. They had the #1 pick locked up until those losers won two games. :)Even with their win, they are drafting 7. Conceptually, it's an interesting tiebreaker. When two sucky teams have the same record, which sucked worse? The NFL's answer is that the one who sucked against the suckier schedule sucked worse.
Answer to your first question is that his recovery is taking longer than expected. Whether he will be ready for OTA's in May is uncertain.Has there been any word on the physical progress of Jordan Travis??? Will this guy ever suit up for an NFL game?
Our old friend Aditi K, who now works for CBS, went on record that Vrabel interviewed with the Jets to get Kraft's attention, and impel him to open up the Patriots job, which he did. Can’t even speculate about the draft until the GM and coach are in place. My guess is Mayo got fired because Vrabel is a lock to NE…which just sucks. Really wanted him coaching the Jets.
Carrol round 2? Has anyone ever coached for the same team, 30 years apart?
Carrol was prematurely fired by Leon Hess -- who then doubled down on that mistake by bringing in Rich Kotite. Just shows the Jets have been a mess for most of our lifetimes.
He shouldn't be.Here is a list of coaches they’ve asked to interview. Ben Johnson is not interested in Jets HC position:

I would be good with Flores. I thought he did a good job at Miami and kind of got screwed. He would bring toughness and accountability, he’s a NY guy and wouldn’t put up with nonsense.Dan Graziano, Jets beat reporter for ESPN, reports that at this time the Jets have three favorites - Mike Vrabel, Aaron Glenn, and Brian Flores.
Problem is, Vrabel is close to being a Patriots lock, and Glenn is considered a Saints lean. Flores has interest from both Bears and Jaguars. Jets could get shut out on all three.
Well there's always Rex, whom no one else seems to want.
It sounded like Flores’ interpersonal skills needed some work based on how he was perceived in MIA, but he was absolute right in pushing back on the idea of betting the team’s future on Tua.I would be good with Flores. Think Flores will be a good coach, but no matter how much he's learned / improved, I'd still hesitate to pair him with a rookie QB.It sounded like Flores’ interpersonal skills needed some work based on how he was perceived in MIA, but he was absolute right in pushing back on the idea of betting the team’s future on Tua.
I wouldn’t want him to have much to do with the offense except for “managing” the overall team. The OC hire will be inportant with any of these defensive guys mentioned.Think Flores will be a good coach, but no matter how much he's learned / improved, I'd still hesitate to pair him with a rookie QB.
Bring in McCarthy, Rodgers might leave on his ownThe return of Rex Ryan ?
