We all knew it was happening. Its official now.

They lost to Kansas.

Wyman drilled the game-winner from 25 yards to clinch KU’s first win over Texas since 1938.
24-21 overtime to notch their first Big 12 victory since Nov. 8, 2014.

The amount of money that Texas has for football is mind boggling. Charlie Strong is a decent coach.

Strong was a rebound hire for Brown - and fifth choice. Never seemed like a good road was ahead. Didn't have a good start or middle. No surprise about the end.

Well so much for no in season firing the AD had mentioned. I guess a loss to Kansas will do that to you. The convincing win over Louisville probably boosted Herman's stock back up and now they want to officially get in the sweepstakes with LSU.

Strong is an okay coach but I've questioned just how good since the Sugar Bowl win and his contract boost to 3M when that was a premium salary. I wanted to see how he would do without Bridgewater. I think his biggest undoing at Texas is that he couldn't find a good OC and was a little confused about filling that position right from the start.

Umm, he hasn't been fired.

technically, sure....

.....to be fair, I was surprised he made it past the 30 yardline after the game without getting fired....

if he ain't gone by Monday morning, he will be by next Saturday afternoon.......

He hasn't been fired yet.
Well that would be more in line then with what the AD had said in the past about an in season firing. Pat Forde and Brian Davis, a reporter for the Austin American Statesman, said reports are untrue and he hasn't been fired....yet. Good chance it will happen some time in the future but not official yet according to them.

Correct. But reports that he has been fired already are wrong.

Can we fire Drew after a 4th shutout?

I honestly believe that RU has just set the record for most 3 and Outs in a season. It's mind boggling.
Maybe Drew can be the Herman's assistant WRs coach at Texas ?

The Texas players should be absolutely ashamed. Losing to a completely talentless Kansas team is unacceptable. Don't know if they liked Strong or not but they obviously mailed in that game, sealing his fate.

I thought he had promise but he may have climbed up the latter way too fast. He went from being a CO-DC to a DC to a HC at Louisville for two or three years. The moment Texas called he jumped ship. Like us Texas is in complete disarray right now.

Guess this means that they came to terms with Tom Herman.

Herman's people actually have said that Texas haven't reach out to him but he is talking to other schools. He wants to Texas job however.

Texas boosters want Herman. It is up to the AD not to screw this up.

NM..not official yet

At Texas you have to be as much a politician as a coach to succeed. I think Charlie is a good coach but he was never a politician. Half the boosters were against him from the start.

He has not shown anything without Teddy. A good coach does not lose to Kansas.

Herman's people are negotiating hard ball. They are tightening the screws on the Texas AD. I doubt that there are multiple offers. There are probably a few agents behind the scenes gauging interest but to say offers instead puts panic in the boosters' minds. This in turn moves UT faster than they want and quickly inflates the offer prices. UT may have come in with $5 million before these "leaks" but now will come in at $6 or more to begin negotiations.

"Co". Defensive

I assume you assume Fickle is gone.
Schiano. This was a one year gig for him IMO. Schiano was born for the BC job...if he can't get that I don't see him ever getting another p5 job.

You think Addazio is getting fired from BC? Hadn't seen that. I always thought it was a 2 year deal with Urban coordinators plus I'd figure Schiano might think BC is beneath him.

It amazes me that Texas and ND can suck with their recruiting classes.
It doesn't matter if they're 5 stars coming out of high school. It matters that they play like 5 stars when they get to college. That takes coaches who can turn potential into real production. Strong and Kelly did that at Louisville and Cincy. Not so much at Texas and ND.

How many jobs has he interviewed for and not gotten? At some point he need to realize no P5 job is below him. I thought I read Urban gave him a special deal....didn't have the usual rules with him. As for Addazzio, if they lose to wake they will miss a bowl game again. They would have 1 conference win in the last two years and have his second losing season in a row in year 4. He also has more 2 star than 3 star recruits in this class. You follow coaching changes as much as anyone....would you give him a year 5?

Yea I saw that but his first 2 years were respectable. I did just read that Brad Bates the AD who hired him is on the last year of his contract and his BB coach isn't lighting the world on fire either. So if he stuck around, I wouldn't be certain that Addazio might not see a 5th year. But if Bates is on the last year of his contract then it's possible both are shown the door.

As to Schiano, I agree with you. I think just about any P5 job is one he should be open to if he wants to be a HC. But what I think and what's actually in his head are 2 different things. Plus I know I've read an article, I think posted here, that he's content where he is and if he were to leave for a HC job it would have to be the right fit etc....So is that BS or reality, I don't know. I don't remember reading anything about any special deals for Schiano as coordinator for only 1 year but who knows.

Like us Texas... three words that will hardly ever go together.
