Apologies if someone already posted this, but I only see about half the posts on this board for some reason 😉

The New Yorker has a nice summary article about the pandemic in its January issue. It's not an easy read as it highlights many of the failures of the US response. I did gain some appreciation for the role Birx played - once she was shut out of the White House covid meetings she basically took her show on the road, traveling from state to state working to convince governors and local leaders to implement mask mandates and other measures. Yes, she should have spoken up publicly when Trump made suggestions about bleach and using "strong light inside the body" but it sounds like she did a lot of good behind the scenes.

Interesting that one governor who refused to make time to meet with her was the one in South Dakota.

All you do is ask for people to be banned or limited. What a Pansy.

Meanwhile you don't add anything of value here aside from parroting the flock's narrative

Here's some advice for ya, use the ignore feature on anyone that doesn't agree with you.

You'll be super duper happy

He added more value in his worst post than you have in your entire history in the thread.

Can we limit RUBOB to 1 post per day instead of 5? Guy can’t even write proper sentences and just makes stuff up. Thankfully he comes off senile enough where nobody listens to him.
You can’t stand the truth you self righteous minion. ArminRU are you that insecure? You immediately just proved why you are the issue not only on the board but in everyday life. Already you are requesting restrictions and censoring me which doesn’t accomplish anything except it provides you some sense of joy it seems. You have mentioned this for several others over the many months. May I remind you that if during anyone’s postings you don’t agree with or don’t believe to be true you can hit the ignore. You can’t do that because as I have said , you’re a self righteous denigrating , postulating, divus . BTW : this senile , old, at the end of life man will probably be here long after you have departed to wherever it is you believe is the end of the journey. Now that may be something you should think about . I have somehow ( miraculously) managed to get here to this part of my life . See I’m proud of my age while most especially here keep their age under wraps . But before you call me or others senile or old man remember I got here in pretty good shape.

Makes a lot of sense. Hope a lot of these people are in no rush to get the vaccine so the rest of us can get it sooner and we reach herd faster.
Yeah I hope you do get the vaccine so maybe you can reach this senile , old man’s age.

Never called you old, just think you sound crazy, that’s all.

I’ve had Proud NJ on ignore for awhile. Funny to learn that he’s been talking to himself for who knows how long when he tries to post at me 😂

I’m not crazy and I really am not angry, or unable to agree with many of the posts regarding Covid 19... We follow all the protocols ,have been taking Multi vitamins, probiotics, vitamin D3, exercise, walk , don’t eat in restaurants, gyms, walk on the boardwalk with crowds . Perhaps it’s more generational but I have had disagreements with some people I knew from childhood and most feel the same. We all hope for better days. I don’t believe in restricting or cancelling someone because of a posting on a sports board.... it still is a sports board where both groups tend to veer off topic. The reason it gets out of hand is because both sides defend their group and what they believe to be valid , factual and true. One thing , we are not all intellectually equal nor hold the same levels of education however , this is often taken as the end all. When you have a pandemic of this magnitude chances are some attempt to be generous and lend their expertise ( numbers is a good example) . The man is evidently a smart guy as are many , many others who post. Those not in the science /medical / health areas when they post something are too often called uneducated, clueless, anti mask and worse. It appears with all the educated there is a staunch group who go beyond what their education really means.

Don't waste your time on him Bud

He adds zero value

One other thing . I’m not worrying about proper grammar , sentence structure, missed punctuations, misspelled words, fragmented sentences, run on sentences ... I just tap away on my I-phone so sorry to those who find that annoying. I assure you and the others who have criticized me past , present and future . In any communications which requires formal writings done by the book I will check with my wife . Oh Armin , no you didn’t call me old but senile does have a specific connotation it’s near and dear since many Rutgers posters who don’t agree love to spout that term. These “ dummies “ for a better term probably maybe have parents , grandparents who are going to one day be senile or perhaps suffer from dementia or early Alzheimer’s. So maybe they really aren’t very smart. Be thankful for everyday you have ... for every person you hold dear... for every good memory you have... and don’t think every one who sounds crazy is crazy... it’s usually the exact opposite.

You were doing so good! Multiple posts with one period, then we fell back into bad habits again with the. ... Two steps forward, one step back. A mere minor hiccup.

I do love the positive outlook on life though I must say.

There are many positive things in life and one of them is realizing to quit while you are ahead. The 2nd is don’t worry about writing composition on a sports board especially in the year 2020.🪓🪓🪓🪓

There should only be one CV thread IMO, on the CE Board.
An easy way to clean this thread up would be to get all the offenders to agree to stop the repetitive posting about masks, wearing masks, the effectiveness of masks, comments about what others may have said about masks, or anything at all to do with masks. By this point, I think we are all quite clear on what some of the habitual poster's feelings on the subject are. If you are so interested in debating masks, be a leader and start a new thread. Otherwise it becomes painful after a while to read through repetitive post after post by the same people that you know what they are going to say before they say it. Say something once to make your point. Twice if you feel it requires emphasis. But by the third time, you are just repeating yourself and no one cares anymore.

Let's talk vaccines than. Two days away from the end of 2020 and we have 2.1 million vaccinated. There have been 11.2 million doses delivered. Think about that. The target was for 20 million vaccinated, not delivered, by the end of the year. Before that it was 40 million and before that 100 million. The plan had major flaws from the beginning. They only looked at the delivery process thinking just dropping them off was good enough. Most hospitals in this environment don't have the resources to establish a vaccination program and were never asked. It's a lot harder than people think and requires a lot more people dedicated just to do vaccines.

It's going to take longer then maybe some predicted. But I think the supply chains will figure it out soon enough.

The holidays probably jam things up as well. Figure the dams are released in early January.

Wearing masks, social distancing, limited indoor dining and limited sporting events will be the new norm for years to come.

It's not a supply chain issue. There are 9 million doses delivered just sitting waiting to be used. Administration of them requires full time teams to do it. Not rely on overworked front line hospital workers.
If they don't make an immediate change this will drag on all year.

Years to vaccinate all ? No not years but it won’t be by June 2021 either . Maybe all could be vaccinated by June 2022 that’s a more likely scenario . If this mutated version turns out to be more than they suspect it will cause more delays more confusion. Found this sad commentary regarding 1000 DC aides being vaccinated before some others more in need. And that’s ok by political standards.

And we will likely have to be revaccinated
Yes we probably will . Don’t get overly concerned though we now have the viruses genetic code and so the next vaccines will be rolling off the lines like butter on hot cakes.

With no one to administer it.

Is there a shelf life for the vaccine? Could some of that 9 million go bad if not used by a certain time?

Wherever the issues lie I have to believe they will do a better job in the 2nd and 3rd months then they have been in the first.

Pretty sure the vaccines will be available in pharmacies if they are not already.

Is there a rationale behind this? The virus mutating for instance? Otherwise I don't see why that would be case.

Pfizer isn't a candidate for most pharmacies.
Shame we are wasting months to figure it out.

I see what you are saying, but we are two weeks in, christmas just passed, and as you note with pfizer's vacinne there are significant logistical issues. I'll wait to see where we are in 2 more weeks.
