OT: Dan Hurley to Uconn

I agree with Bac on this one. For what it's worth, with our history of incompetence in hoops I can EASILY see Rutgers blowing whatever money it does receive for basketball do to poor decision making. However with that said, with a much bigger safety net now than we did before. We're talking a similar divide as big market/small market teams do in baseball.

No one takes into account how most of the boosters money for athletics go to the basketball program at basketball only schools. Real simple for private schools to raise enough money from donors to fund a basketball program at a high level. I've talked to many Villanova alumni over the years and some of them could fund the basketball program on their own

This is very true RU Dio. Another example is St. John's. It has access to all the money they would ever need from boosters. Up to those schools to make the correct decisions, but money is there even when they are not members of a football conference.

Fail.

Q:What does the Hobbs/Pikiell era have to do with Rutgers’ history of hoops incompetence?

A: Nothing.

Open your eyes, there is a new sheriff in town.

Problem is everyone here talks about how much better things are going to be under coach Pike and while that may turn out to be true until it actually happens it is just that, talk.
After SO many years of futility who can blame anyone for wanting to see it first?
