Looking for suggestions for dinner in Savannah. Today is our 37th wedding anniversary and we decided to celebrate it next week on our way south in Savannah. Thanks for any suggestions.

I don't have a specific suggestion but would offer two things to consider..1) pick one that is on the river and 2) there is a place called Scarlett's on the river

Don't go there. The service is terrible. Frankly, they just don't give a damn.

The pink house. Get a drink in the basement and have dinner upstairs. you can eat in th basement too, but for an anniversary you may want a quieter setting.

Make a reservation.

I'll never go through savannah without stopping there.

Never been to Savannah but Charleston isn't too far... If you drive through there do try Hominy Grill. It's amazing.

I'd recommend Vic's On The River. Absolutely fantastic shrimp and grits, but almost everything there is really good. If you're a history buff there is also a pretty cool preserved map that was drawn on the wall during the Civil War that they found when renovating.

Besides Vic's, there a number of nice bar spots along the river. Unless you are big Paula Deen fans skip Lady and Sons. Was fine but not worth the wait.

Savannah is only 45 minutes from Hilton Head, which also has a number of nice spots and would be a great day trip. As mentioned earlier, Charleston is also only about 1:45 and they have a number of great places there.

+1 The Olde Pink House. Do both bar below and restaurant upstairs. Stylish. Charm. Great menu. Real restaurant.

Thanks for all the suggestions. We are planning two days in Savannah so we will be able to hit several spots. Thanks again.

Was just there Fri-Mon. Try 1790 instead of the pink house and for lunch you can't beat Mrs Wilkes (but you have to wait on line .. In he heat and humidity)

Definitely the Pink House. The She Crab soup is great. Was Recommended by an old friend from Savannah who we used to camp next to for 20 years at Bristol Nascar races
