OT: Giants vs Eagles

Can't blame the INTs on the ref..

GG, Gents.
Congratulations you just guaranteed yourselves an outside the top ten draft pick. See you in the playoffs. O wait that's right you won't be going.

Eagles desrved that one (again against the Giants). Nice that Eli spoke to team this week about not letting an opportunity slip by.

Eli just can't play in Philly. Never has. He's really only put up a handful of really good games against the Eagles in general. Eli is getting the game ball in the eagles locker room right now.

This is the story for all teams in the NFC east since the 200s sans Elis two miracle play off runs. No "star" QB can come up big - McNabb Romo Manning

Jerzyguy who roots for the cowboys. Pathetic...

Really thought blue was gonna pull that one off. Saw the slow start coming from a mile away considering Sunday night to Thursday night isn't a good enough resting period. Glad they fought back to make it a good game.

Good win for the eagles in their annunal super bowl, the final game on the schedule they play against the Giants lol.

That's a penalty call in the nfl everytime unless cam newton is qb wasn't even questionable
Don't see it. Clearly he began the hit in time as Wentz might have pulled the ball in. The penalty must have been for taking him to the ground too hard. But he doesn't even know if Wentz has the ball or not as his head is behind Wentz' back. He simply follows through with the tackle. It's rough, but don't see the penalty.

The pass interference call, on the other hand was clear. Hated Collinsworth's notion of "It's the fourth quarter, so you don't call it." That is incredible BS. When do you bury the flag? Halfway through the fourth? Last three minutes?

Worst call of the day was the roughing on Apple. What was he supposed to do? Terrible officiating. But the Giants played poorly. Deserved to lose. Beckham dropping the ball and Eli making some terrible throws.

But, Jints will likely make the playoffs, and the Eagles will continue to be a non-factor in the NFL postseason. When was the last time they won it all? Who was president?

1 pm game against the lions was Sunday, so it wasn't Sunday night. Eagles also had a game at 1 Sunday, so the turnaround was exactly the same for both teams.

There is simply something about the Eagles and especially when the Giants play them in Philly. This has been going on since the Randall Cunningham days. Which is why I had a really bad feeling about this game.

The Eagles aside, it is getting to the point of the 1950's-60s Giants where as the Defense when coming off the field, would yell to the offense..............See if you can hold them.

Two quarterback questions ...

1.) What is the opinion of Giants fans on Carson Wentz and Dak Prescott? Do you think either or both are for real (make multiple Pro Bowls in the future, ability to go deep into the playoffs)?

2.) How much more time do you think Eli has, since he's been pretty healthy throughout his career?

Yep...and he should be.

Game changing no call which was textbook dpi

That ref should be suspended
Stop. There's a bunch of calls that can go either way in every NFL game. Maybe if Eli doesn't throw a pick six in the first that play doesn't matter.

Stop what? How the heck does eli's pick 6 have anything to do with criticizing a botched call that likely changed the outcome of the game

Its stupid logic like this that results in games being decided by these atrocious refs.

That no call was pathetic

A1.) Dak is a talented guy. That said, he benefits from a solid line, a top RB, a top WR, and a top TE. Even with all that, he has come down to earth to the point where some folks are asking for Romo. They really simplified the offense for him (and why not?). Run/pass options. Fewer deep drops & complex pass patterns.

Contrast that with Wentz, whose line was decimated for most of the season, his best RB fumbles at a mindboggling rate, and none of the receivers can get open or catch consistently. Let's be honest: the Eagles' most dangerous offensive weapon is 100 year old Sproles. Pederson gave Wentz the keys to the Ferrari and fully opened the playbook from the start. He was making checks, setting protections, and changing plays at the line from day one. Now he's obviously dinged up the car a bit, but I think this was an overall very successful year for him. I also think his arm got tired from the 60+ passing attempts per game he was doing early on in the season.

Going back to your question, Dak has a much higher ceiling if the Cowboys continue to surround him with top shelf talent. But all else equal, I think Wentz has better tools.

A2.) Eli can play 2-3 more years if he plays his cards right. Being in a West Coast system will save his tread since most routes break at 5-10 yards. Having ODB at his peak certainly helps as well.
