OT: Good thing we are a basketball school, never saw 6-0 coming

If only Rutgers could play Malloy 16 more times, the mens basketball team would be ensured a winning season.

Its amazing how the football and basketball (both men and womens) programs have all fallen apart here

I am excited for basketball and hope people show up. have some players and better coach.

At 6-0, this team is already exceeding my expectations. The last two wins made this team suck it up and play with heart. Nobody probably believes we will just rip through the BIG, but I now think we can push some of the teams around and maybe even pull off a real upset or two.
With football in the bowl and WBB absolutely terrible, we seem to finally have a team to really root for.

We made the Foley Bowl did we?

Eddie Jordan was bad, a money grubbing fraud. Glad to see the BB program doing well even with a depleted roster. Goes to show you experience and coaching matter. It's still early but it looks like Hobbs at least got the BB hire right.

a bit harsh....don't know if I would go that far.... I would say that Eddie truly loves RU, his coaching here was a dream job for him

He was not up to the task..... I felt sorry, but felt it necessary, for him to be fired..... but he always cherished his time here.

I respectfully disagree. It was his dream job because it paid him a million a year..Laziest coach I ever observed.

Pikiell and staff have it MUCH easier than Ash and staff..btw.

We are in good hands with both.

Think you can see that Eddie did have an eye for talent. Like Ash his downfall was not hiring or relying upon good experienced assistants.

Which is why I say Pikiell has it easier. He came into a team that had talent butv was poorly coached. Ash inherited a poorly coached team that's severely over matched in talent level. plus, in general, much easier and quicker rebuild a hoops program.

In the past Eddie always said he loved the university..... that said, he could have been a lazy coach, I did not say
otherwise..... the only reason I felt bad is that I believe he cared a lot, as shown when we beat Wisconsin last year.... he cried...

but he had to go.... not much to disagree on here.

You had Hicks, Martin and Goodwin, i.e. talent, and instead ran the QB in the seminal moment/drive of the season against Iowa. That's coaching.

OK. not sure what this has to do with my argument, though.

You cannot compare Pikiell being 6-0 to Ash being 2-9 at this moment. 2 totally different rebuilds, Ash playing much harder competition, and less talent then Pike. If you don't see..i don't know what to tell you.

Both will be fine.

I could care less about the thread. I miss Deluise and Carson . And even though Reynolds is still hanging in I miss him too.

+1, and don't forget Wrestling.

FB - No qbs = 2 wins. BB - No shooters = 6 wins.
Must be the speed factor or they only play 40 mins.
Two new coaches = wash.

He's been a coaching fraud his entire career. Way to steal money from your alma mater there Eddie.
