OT: How do you explain the Seminoles right now(LOL?)

That has to be a whole new set of issues. The resentments from paying players who aren’t producing. And then what if other players not getting paid surpass the high roller NIL tickets that don’t pan out? Can’t even begin to imagine the locker room mess.
i'm not sure what the issues are quite honestly
All i know is there's a lot of them

I have to congratulate FSU shirtless coach fan. This is epic entertainment. Sign him up! This should the Noles an automatic SEC entry.

Old news buddy
Productive Boosters call last night with Alford & Ponder - call me, I’ll give you a recap
Old news, you mean false claim. Never top ten.
I don't need to call you. You can post your fabrications on here so all of us can see and laugh at!

Again, you’re showing your lack of all things college football knowledge outside of Piscataway, and even there, it’s pretty limited

Anyone that posts a list with Texas A&M and Ole Miss in the top 10 and takes it seriously (like you did) exposes himself as completely clueless to the masses

Usually, I’d take pity on someone of your caliber, but you keep going back to the well and don’t learn from your previous mistakes

There’s gotta be a birthday party for you to attend, some sort of cycling event to enter

Please, the love of God, leave the college football talk the big kids on the board and go play in the sandbox with the rest of the children

Ponies took it to them
They have a ton of booster $$
NIL has been a Godsend to them
Been thinking about this... the SMU angle.

Imagine you were a well-monied booster who ultimately was responsible for the NCAA Death Sentence that relegated SMU football to the trash heap for decades.

Then, suddenly, what you had done is now perfectly legal and you can help SMU return to the top ranks of college football.

You cared about football.

You had plenty of money.

Perhaps you are dead or dying and your heirs can erase your crimes against SMU football in your memory.

IRRC, its old oil money. JR Ewing kinda stuff (talk about decades and decades old.. okay "Landman" is a new Paramount+ show along the same lines. Black gold, Texas tea.. SMU football.

It was one comment by me but you keep that thread going.
Funny part is Bus has some if the crazier views on this board

Guy legit thinks Ole Miss and Texas A & M are top 5 brands in college football, yet he himself can’t be bothered to attend our first bowl game in a decade 40 miles from campus

Truly a lost soul

I would do the exact same thing if I that kind of money

I would literally fund both Rutgers and FSU to the fullest extent possible in order to win championships

And I think multiple people, if not most on this board, would do the exact same thing if they had that amount of money

Only way Schiano ever wins a football championship is if his team is the only one competing. And even then it might not even be a lock without a glorious Fieldhouse and golden 75 foot GS statue in front of it to woo recruits. I can only imagine Fieldhouse Al’s excuses for Schiano not winning a one team league.

Before NIL, we had no shot of ever competing or being consistently elite - With NIL now, anything is possible

Gun to my head, do I think af get there? No
Do I think Schiano is the answer? No

But at least now there’s hope
Pre NIL, we had none

Disagree. NIL and the changes that stemmed from it.. easy transfers.. extra covid year.. roster rules.. etc.. all favored the elite monied programs.

Before NIL.. with the 85 schollie limit and no more than 25 per year, other programs proved they could rise and compete. And now it is the wild wild west again.. just like it was when the elite programs became elite programs.

It is anti-competition... it is anti-parity.

Now.. it could be said that if we could spend as much or more than the elites.. then we might become one.. with enough winning over time. But we, and all the non-elites, have a HUGE disadvantage.

We have to convince new people to invest in Rutgers sports.

We'd have to win off those investments.. make it worth their while. There are only so many such sources of funds for such endeavors. If investing in Rutgers doesn't immediately pay off.. cross that funding source off the list forever.

The elite programs don't have that issue. They can sustain down years and even demand MORE money in order to recover from bad times.

We'd have to become well-funded AND spend it wisely... and, at best, we'd be 50-50 to beat the elites.

I suppose the most interesting indication that I may be wrong is Nick Saban's retirement. Was it not wanting to deal with NIL? of the kids that NIL attracts? Or is it that Alabama cannot compete with money with. say. Georgia or LSU or maybe even Auburn. Did Saban see the writing on the wall? It was probably just time to retire.

The elites were already paying the kids
We had zero chance of competiting pre-NIL

LOL!!!!

I believe SMU raised $160 million this year from multiple donors who were overjoyed with their admission to the ACC.

Move over FSU and Clemson you have a money ball power house in the conference to contend with.

HAIL TO PITT!!!!

FSU fought hard to keep SMU out of the ACC claiming they would lower the ACC ratings. Now we know the real reason why they didn't want SMU. Good job SMU.

Agree.

I think many ACC fans are now negative toward FSU, Clemson and North Carolina is because they opposed the admission of Stanford, Cal and SMU which helped solidify the ACC Conference going forward. Why hurt the conference.

I no longer care if they leave the ACC.

Not sure the B1G would be interested in FSU (non AAU) at this point but if they were admitted I think they would be reduced to a 2nd tier program competing in the B1G.

And FSU in Clemson fans feel negative towards the ACC as they’ve been carrying the league for the better part of three decades, and have little to show for it in terms of a monetary contract as well as other teams stepping up their performance

You should care if fsu amc Clemson.leave the ACC because it’ll be relegated to a Sunbelt level conference

In regard to the pecking order of the big, it goes as follows

Tier 1 - Buckeye, Michigan
Tier 2 - Nitts, USC, Oregon

If USC got Elite again, that would catapult them into the tier 1 category

If Notre Dame joins, they would obviously be in tier one

FSU would fall into the tier 2 category, which isn’t a bad place to bebeing that a tier ones consist of Blue Bloods

FSU and Clemson got to WIN National Championships in the ACC which they Won't be able to do in the B1G or SEC going forward.

Now I believe that the B1G and SEC no longer have have a great interest in having them join now.

What I predict is that FSU, now not getting that warm fuzzy feeling from those other Conferences will now actively seek to remain in the ACC under some compromise agreement.

Also remember FSU did sign the GOR agreement and I'm sure they had lawyers review the details before signing.

See how it plays out going forward.

They won them no thanks to the ACC
Why would they not be able to win them going forward?

Warm and fuzzy?
The other conferences can't outwardly say they want them, as that opens them up to massive lawsuits
