OT:LET'S GO METS

I didn't think the Mets would win all the rest of the games vs. the Phillies.

omg you get back in the game, and then you bring Parnell in. SMH.

Sometimes I think Terry Collins has a thing for guys like Parnell, Murphy, and O'Flaherty. How else do you explain the reason these screwups keep running out there night after night.

The other 2 are not on the same planet as Murphy. He's been the most consistent hitter on this team for the better part of 3 seasons.

I at least get it with Parnell since he was good in the past, but I'm tired of it. I am more worried about the Mets bullpen then I am with the Rutgers cornerbacks.

They obviously don't want to resign Collins ...Please Sandy pull a Lou Lameirello and FIRE COLLINS! After mets scored 4 he had plenty of time to get someone else up. Keep wearing that Fking turtle neck when it's 95 degrees and humid you stupid old fck.

I thought Goedell and Reed are in the bullpen? We just got back into the game and he goes to Parnell, O'Flaherty, and Torres. 2 of these guys don't deserve to be on a major league roster, let alone pitching in close games.

This is all on TC. I can't think of a worse bullpen manager.

Tonight is on TC. Momentum swings to the Mets and he brings in Parnell, O'Flaherty and Torres. The holy trinity of ineptitude.

O'Flaherty is not even a high school pitcher. They need to dump him now. Parnell is done also. Torres on rare occasion is useful. This bullpen outside of Familia and Clippard is terrible.

He wanted to get Reed in the game. Can't use Parnell. Enough with him. Put reed in 6th.

If they make the playoffs maybe they can use Colon and Niese in the pen. Need to get there first though.

Collins is definitely one of those "Well, he's given up umpteen runs in his past 2 appearances, he's due for a good inning. Let's put him in there and see if he's got it tonight..." managers.

RU for Jersey - Agree with you 100%. Why are so many decisions by Collins a head-scratcher? He is in a pennant race - down 2 runs in the 6th inning - and he has Gilmartin; Robles and Addison Reed to use - yet he puts in riff raff such as Parnell; O'Flaherty and Torres - who all 3 should not be on major league rosters. As I have told several of my friends - Collins will find a way for the Mets to blow the pennant or to lose in the playoffs because of bonehead decisions such as what he did tonight.

Reed looked good in is half inning. Based on Collins' track record, we either see him warm up every game or he won't be used again for the next week.

Collins definitely manages like an idiot sometimes. Why put Parnell in at that point? Are you telling me you all of a sudden have confidence in him just because he sat on the DL for a couple of weeks rather than being released? And then if you're gonna go with a lefty why not Gilmartin who has been solid all season rather than O'Flarherty who has been nothing but a batting practice pitcher since he arrived. It's like he's saying okay Alderson you bought these guys in and i'm gonna roll them out there. Results be damned. Little wonder they're not gonna even talk extension until the season ends.

Firing Terry Collins and calling up Wally Backman would be the best September call up in Mets history.

When do the rosters expand? Anybody in AAA that can help us?
I assume this was tongue in cheek as the rosters expanded today. But in case it was a serious question, the answer to question 2 is not really. Dario Alvarez is eligible to come back up on Friday, perhaps he will show enough to replace O'Flaherty as the situational lefty. Verrett will be back next week and will likely take another spot start. That's about it.

I see that Vic Black, whom they were counting on heavily going into the season, has been outrighted and is off the 40 man. Seems like he has just plain lost it. That happens to pitchers, and is always sad when it does.
