My web firm is currently on Visual Studio 2010, and we're looking to upgrade. The two later versions are 2013 and 2015, the latter of which came out earlier this year. One thing I've learned with MS products is that they are usually not perfect out-the-door, so that gives us some hesitation on going to VS 2015. Has anyone migrated to either of these and can you share your experience? Thanks!

Both are reliable. I use 2013 more heavily (just haven't had the time to upgrade all our projects to 2015) and it's a huge upgrade over 2010.

You forgot about 2012! 12 and 13 are both great....we don't use 2015 yet.

I've used 2013 and its pretty solid. Although I use Xcode on the Mac more than Visual Studio.

Some RU lab computers have 2015. It's decent.

XCode, on the other hand...

We've fully migrated to 2013, planning on moving to 2015 in Q4 2016 (waiting for 2015 to bake in!)

Maybe stating the obvious but your plan should also take into account migrating apps to newer .NET versions.

To continue stating the obvious, upgrading visual studio is not an issue....upgrading all of your projects to the new Visual Studio is where things tend to go awry. For example, we do all of our work in Azure, and every time we upgrade any of the underlying pieces, you can count on a half day nightmare getting everything to work again.
