I think these guys are funny.
I wonder how much pot is smoked prior to coming up with and practicing these.
Quite honestly these guys are the only reason I would spend money on a ticket to the game.

my whole life I've paid reasonable attention to Monmouth basketball....but I must ask:
How many name programs have they ever beaten before this year? can't be many. To beat UCLA, USC, Notre Dame and Georgetown in six weeks is otherworldly. Hopefully they can rise to the top of the MAAC. I'm sure that would make King Rice a candidate for a bigger job.

Really stupid but I guess if you are not good enough to see the floor in a game you may as well act stupid to get attention.
I'm officially done with Monmouth.

This was basically their last big game for a while. This is a story because they played against Georgetown in a nationally-televised game. You won't be seeing much of them when they start the MAAC schedule because nobody will be watching.
its cute at first but gets old real quick...and I would have to raise the idea that they are rubbing it their opponents faces by doing it. The NCAA has signed off on it but how is this any better than a guy celebrating on the field after a touchdown
yeah, since they've removed all the fun and celebrations in football... they should do the same for basketball and every other sport too.:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
The one thing it has done is shine a national spotlight on Monmouth U's men's basketball program. I posted this on the basketball board--this should get the attention of recruits who want to play at a smaller school. Monmouth U is in a beautiful location. Some of the dorms are right on the beach. That's an attractive place to go to school.
This Monmouth team makes other teams look really bad. Just like our own 1976 team did to others. #flashback

I love these guys. Creative as heck and just having a lot of fun. Some people forget it's a game sometimes.
I expect them to pull off "The Joust" at the RAC.
Do guys not celebrate after scoring TD's in football? Or after making a first down, or a sack, or a tackle, or a pass defense, or a 5 yard run.........

Well I guess the distinction is the choreographed nature of Monmouth's bench, and that's a legit distinction, but college football players absolutely "celebrate" on the field after the above mentioned.
Oh, and they handily beat Georgetown. What do they bring to the RAC?
I'll tell you what they're going to "bring:"
- a team that knows how to play and has beaten USC, UCLA, G'Town, and ND, all on the road
- a team that enjoys the game
- a ton of fans
...and another road victory.
Weak. If you are not playing watch the game. Those type of antics are for theater class or madrigals.
