I will be in Princeton Sunday and have never been to the University. I plan on visiting the campus and grabbing lunch/brunch in the area . This board is always a good source for places to eat. Any recommendations on or off campus that are great food spots . Will be family and coming straight from youth soccer so not a fancy spot but pretty much open to anything else but. Also for those very familiar with the campus any must see spots ?

Take the cannon, leave the fatcat.

Hoagie Haven if you want something similar to the grease trucks.

Theresa's-right on Palmer Square. Personal pizzas, great pasta, casual, fairly inexpensive. They care about their food

brown bag it

Walk down Witherspoon street . You will not go hungry. And the buspersons are probably a lot smarter than you .. If you want to go old school casual go to Contes for thin crust perfectly constructed pizza .

Try Alchemist and Barrister--check out their reviews. Triumph Brewing Company may be worth a look too. You can check out the nearby Princeton Public Library to see if our former coach is hanging out in non-RU gear.
Hey my company just did the masonry work this past winter on one of those in Red Bank right next to the theater. Do you know if that one opened yet?

Does not appear so. Forgot you were a mason. We desperately needed a mason for a small job in Wall a little over a week ago. Trying to find a mason to even give us a quote was a challenge. Had to rebuild a chimney from the attic through the roof, as the brick and mortar had deteriorated and was letting water pour into the house.

It did not, but seems like it's making progress (according to my parents who live nearby). I'm at the Triumph in New Hope a lot, which I find to be much better than the one in Princeton.

I knew they wouldn't be open by July like they told us.[laughing] Seems to be less and less of us as the years go by. Not many kids want to go into the masonry business(I can't blame them). I always tell friends of mine, have your kids come work for me for a summer. I'll teach them to stay in school. For a while there my company was the proving grounds for the US Military. Had two kids go into the Coast Guard, One to the Marines and one Navy.

If you want to combine a little history with good pub food, try the Tap Room in the historic old Nassau Inn on Palmer Square.

Its a good fake but a 20h century building. The Rockwell painting is a dandy though.

I'll add PJ's Pancakes for more of a Princeton institution then Winberies, then hit the original Thowas Sweet.
