I like him as a HC. Actually more than Fleck but still gonna be a hard place to succeed for him
Guess Fleck has some better offers on the table now

I like Brohm much more than Fleck. That being said Fleck prob would have got killed trying to work his Schlick at Purdue. He needs to got a place like Texas tech where he can recruit the shit out of an area.

PJ would do very well at Purdue. You're talking about a team in the weaker side of the most lucrative conference, with easy access to Chicagoland recruiting (PJ's home area). He would kill it there, and I actually don't buy the Brohm reports just yet (the reports are that he is "top choice" going into the weekend, not that he has been hired), because they may have been leaked in order to make sure PJ meets with them this weekend and considers the offer.

Purdue: According to a tweet from Dan Dakich, “Not declaring it ‘done’ yet but Jeff Brohm to Purdue is doneish.” Dakich adds that he hears “press conference Monday”.

IMO Fleck would be a great fit at Houston. Not P5 but plenty of $$$ and a recruiting hotbed. Couple of years there and he can get a good P5 job.

Houston AD said he's gonna make next guys buyout huge for at least first 3 years. Be a great spot for Les Miles

He's never going to out recruit osu and nd in that area. So he will be fighting msu and Ill for second tier prospects. And Purdue isn't gonna shell out the cash he needs for coordinators. That's why I don't like the fit for him.

Between Fleck and Brohm, I like Brohm a little more as well. His name was one of the ones attached to this job. Let's see if he can churn out a strong offense at Purdue like he did at Western Kentucky.

As to Houston I've seen Kiffin and Miles tied to that one among other coaches, not really for anything else though with regards to Miles and the P5. Wonder if that's a Miles issue being selective or an AD issue not really looking in his direction. He is eager to get back in but maybe only at a place where he thinks there's a lot of support.

Fleck would have recruited well here..allready has ties.

Let's see if it works. It all depends on the candidate. I've mentioned taking a similar tact in the past with regards to athletic directors putting big buyouts in for the first 3 years because that's about as much as you an expect from a coach. If he's left to a better spot, it's likely he left your school also in a better spot.

But that's a two way street, a hot candidate has leverage to say no. A lesser candidate or someone who is "past it" might not.

I think he'll be a good one for them. He was very successful at Western Kentucky I believe.

Love the Brohm hire for them.

Lots of smoke about Kiffin to Houston - even saw one comment that Saban supports it so he goes there instead of LSU OC.
