OT: Recumbent exercise bike and treadmill

I was looking for a treadmill late 2020 height of the pandemic. Family member used to work at Dicks told me Sole was a good brand.

I bought an F80. Solid, quality machine for the price. As others mentioned, these things are heavy! Gave me the fight of a lifetime trying to drag it up a flight of stairs and that was after I stripped it down to the deck and motor

Overall great advice from my family member. Ive put well over 1300 miles on it running (but mostly walking due to nagging injuries flaring up in the oddest places - my toes and soles of my feet!)

This past August I was just starting a run and boom huge spark shot out and the thing died. Called Sole and they couldnt have been nice to deal with (companys out in Utah). Shipped me out a new motherboard quickly and I've been back at it ever since

When I was considering a Sole some time ago, their 800 number gave me the impression that you can arrange installation (that is, carrying the thing up a flight of stairs) with a private company.

It is *possible* you have plantar fascitis. There are stretching exercises you can do to help. Some people benefit from orthotics in their shoes.

I have to add that I have had cycling friends get into *very* bad accidents (resulting in death or paralysis or brain damage) doing outdoor rides. Drivers are crazier than ever today.
I've been in a very bad accident because the driver (a cop) and myself weren't able to see each other until the very last second. Eye sight, hearing and being alert are paramount. No music, no distractions and don't trust having the green light.

Sole probably offered that but I am fairly handy and also fairly stubborn and wouldnt let it defeat me, ha! They offered to send a guy to install the new motherboard too recently but I got it done in less than 20 min all told

And yes its def plantar fascitis ha! My body is not built to run at all but I do enjoy it. Been dealing with it off and on since high school cross country 30 years ago

Do you use it for running? That would be my main purpose for it. I was reading that you gotta keep it lubed. Like you said every few months
Both running and walking, but I walk more on it. My wife runs more. I use our spin bike the most because I am a skier and need the leg/cardio aspect the most. The tech told me that walking is harder on the treadmill than running. He told us the preferred lube to use (order on Amazon) and we maintain it every 2 months. Never had to do that with my prior treadmills but we do like it.

I worry about outdoor cycling. I have had cycling friends get into *very* bad accidents (resulting in death or paralysis or brain damage) doing outdoor rides. I'm sure everyone has read about the two hockey players who were killed by an impaired driver on a rural road in South Jersey when they were here for their sister's wedding. Drivers are crazier than ever today.
I keep off the roads and stick to trails.

A good paved bike path system is a great feature for any town, too.

Absolutely. But too much of the Cherry Hill system consists of white markings on roads.
Agree with that sentiment. Some of those cycling lanes seem more dangerous than just biking on the shoulder. Seem to create a false sense of security.

NJ is lacking in a legit trail system. I live outside of Philadelphia in Belmont Hills less than a mile from the Schuylkill River Trail that goes on for what seems forever with many other trails feeding off that, including the Chester Valley Trail, Perkiomen Trail and my favorite Valley Forge. Very few spots you need to ride on roads but if you do it's very short.

This will show how old I am -- I would listen to cassette tapes on my Walkman as I rode. My favorite was the Rolling Stones' 1964-1970 compilation. I would pause for a moment in the middle and flip the cassette.
As long as we are in agreement the definitive version of “Midnight Rambler” (live at MSG) is on this album, we’re good.

This is why you’re one of my favorites.🫡

And, IYKYK…

So here are the key questions . . . what is the crowd chanting as the band teases them with the hook? what is the female voice shouting out to Jagger?

BTW, I heard this recording on FM radio in Philadelphia. I e-mailed the female DJ to ask if she ever got any complaints when she played it. Not one, she replied.

She could be a grandmother by now. LOL
