Figured I'd give it a shot here...

Anyone have any suggestions/tips about renting using websites like VRBO? Never rented a house before, looking for a weekend in mid March for a group of RU college buddies get together. Want somewhere within an uber or cab ride to casino...just wondering if any experienced vrbo renters had positive or negative experiences.

Thanks in advance

We have a house in Belmar that we rent on VRBO without issues. On the flip side, we have rented houses in California, Arizona and Florida from VRBO without issue. All positive. Some of the houses have reviews. You should not have a problem.

I rented a house in the Poconos a couple years ago on VRBO with no issues. Pay through the site, not direct with the owner.

VRBO is awesome. We rent our second home on it and also use it anytime we travel somewhere as a family. Never had a bad experience.

We have used VRBO multiple times to find rentals in Tennessee and North Carolina with no problems. I would recommend leaning towards properties with multiple positive reviews as a tiebreaker when choosing between properties you like, particularly those with more recent reviews.

Message me the details of your Belmar place?

3 weeks ago I stayed in a treehouse on Oahu that I found on Air BnB. Like the experiences mentioned through VRBO, it was a very positive experience.

Used vrbo 4x (twice for poconos). It's good, focus on reviews and make sure to follow up with deposit return

Used VRBO when we went to Seattle last year for the Washington State game. The back door opened up on Post Alley about a hundred yards down from Pike Place Market. Stayed for a whole week. Great experience at much less than any decent hotel in the area would cost.
