Staying at the Hyatt tonight what's good in the area. We have a car so we can drive if needed. Also any good places for breakfast in Hoboken tomorrow

I highly recommend a place called HopsScotch. 286 Washington Street. It upscale craft beer/scotch place. It also has some great food. My friend owns the place. If you go, ask to see Luke and tell him The U will stink this year (he is a big Canes fan. ) Seriously, this is a great place.

I recently moved from JC after living there for 8 years. The restaurant scene has exploded in the last 5 years or so. Personally, my favorite place is Razza (on Grove St) -- an upscale pizza restaurant. It never disappoints. If you want good Italian near your hotel, you could try Porto Leggero. Thirty Acres is also very good if you're looking for more upscale cuisine. HopsScotch can work for more standard fare, as can a lot of other places.

For breakfast tomorrow, I'd suggest going to Skinner's Loft -- I love their breakfast. I don't know too much about the Hoboken breakfast scene.

Old school Italian , Laicos. Like being in an old mafia movie. Excellent food and fresh squeezed fruit juice for the cocktails (at least they used to do this).

+1 on Laicos. Edward's Steakhouse can't miss. Razzo's is attached to a coffee house, Grove Cafe. My friends are playing live cover tunes there starting at 11pm.

Forgot to mention Orale if looking for good Mexican in a sit down setting. Or if looking for good Mexican in a greasy bag, Taqueria can't be beat.

I agree about Razza and Porta. Also, if you stay in JC for breakfast, you can walk right over to the City Diner. It's awesome -- not the typical diner at all. They have a great menu.

+1 on Hopsscotch. Great place to hang and watch the games with tons of hard to find craft beers. Definitely ask for Luke and tell him the Canes suck. He does have RU season tickets too.

Go to the melting point for brunch tomorrow. Great views of the city off th river in Hoboken

If you mean melting pot, that closed about a year or so ago. No restaurant called melting point in Hoboken to my knowledge. If you're looking to get a boozy brunch Brass Rail offers a bottomless brunch and food deal. Also close to the water and path.

If you like diners and especially pancakes, give the Brownstone Diner and Pancake Factory a spin in JC - amazing pancakes of all kinds and great diner, too...

I like Lisbon Two, you can walk from the Hyatt.

Hoboken brunch, Taste of Cuba has a ropa vieja eggs benedict which is as awesome as it sounds.

Second this. Their servings are ginormous and I forget the exact show, but the place was highlighted on the Food Network.

I second the notion about City Diner and the Brownstone. Both have great food , esp breakfast food. City Diner is open 24 hours and Brownstone have those famous pancake wraps that should stuff you for a couple of days.

Also, The Roman Diner on Newark and Grove is a pretty good, small Italian place.
