OT: Rex Ryan has been fired as the Buffalo Bills Head Coach

He already lost to the Pickspatrick led Jets at home where his defense couldn't stop that always potent Jets offense. If he hadn't lost that one and given up 33 unanswered points to the Raiders in about a quarter and a half then just maybe he'd have a job today cause the team would probably be playoff bound. Just this week Tyrod Taylor and the offense put up close to 600 yards of offense, didn't turn the ball over once and they lost.

that's fair but he's also the guy who shutout the Pats after brissett beat the Dolphins and Texans -- two playoff teams. and tyrod taylor is a terrible QB

Never assume. As a Red Sox fan I certainly appreciate an owner who will spend to
build a better team. But, lets be honest, it's not a level playing field for all teams.

An owner who empties their pockets acquiring a lineup of superstars is not guaranteed a championship - sometimes the odds are better that they will be spending more of their time resolving prima donna pissing contests than they will hoisting glasses of champagne

Yes, this does happen. Lousy teams ALSO have prima donnas.

I wouldn't say he's a terrible QB. Was good enough to get into the Pro Bowl as an alternate and even though he hasn't played as well this year there are still some teams that are worse off at the position. Arguably even some that are going to the playoffs. Give them Kyle Shanahan as coach and I think this offense could really do some things.

Fair enough -- he's not terrible but he's also not a difference maker. If you were starting a franchise today you'd pick a lot of guys before you ever got to Taylor.

I just don't think Rex has done a bad job there. Look at the playoff teams. Miami and Houston are arguably the only teams with similar type talent to Buffalo. Houston is a division winner so they don't count. I guess you could say Buffalo and Miami are similar but I think Miami has more talent especially on the outside.

As a Jets fan I can say that Rex's shtick plays well when the team wins.

But when the team loses then Rex's act wears thin very quickly.

Apparently the Bills didn't win enough this season to impress the owners. The owners have the right to hire and fire when they desire. And Rex didn't win enough this season to get another year in the eyes of the Bills owners. See ya later Rex Ryan !

If a Prima Donna on a lousy team throws a hissy fit - what is the impact? - they are already bad.

when a lousy team is negatively impacted by a prima donna - -they have another bad season ... and any schmoe can unsuccessfully manage that team

when a 'dream team' gets thrown into turmoil by a prima donna - a possible championship is put in peril - it takes some unique leadership skills to keep things from blowing up & opportunity to be lost.

I've always thought Rex would be a good college coach. The college game can be simpler, build a team that can play D and can run the ball and you can do very well. Rex's limited offensive philosophy doesn't work in the NFL.

I'm no fan of Rex, but Rob is the biggest joke in NFL coaching. He ruins every defense he touches. How he keeps getting coordinator jobs is mystifying.

Not that it would, could or should happen but can you imagine the energy he would bring to being the Rutgers DC? I really think he could get the most out of college kids on defense, especially since the cast changes every season or two.

Because his father was a defensive genius. Helps to have the last name Ryan
