OT-RIP Florence Hednderson (Carol Brady et al)

Florence was 82.

Geez, my childhood "heros" R now passing. Mrs. Brady! I feel like I just got hit with a thrown football in the nose right before the prom!

I wonder if we all will ready know if she and Barry Williams (Greg Brady) ever hooked up.

FYI I graduated HS in 1981. A girl who graduated with me (ironically, without my glasses I last heard but didn't see-1o yards out in the Atlantic Ocean in Surf City when she called out my name) attended Bryn Mawr. Susan Olsen (Cindy Brady) was in her entering class. If you ever saw Susan Olsen after she grew up she was hotter than McCormick (Marcia) and Eve Plumb (Jan)-at least in her late teens and 20's.

Wide ranging career including Broadway (played Maria in "The Sound of Music" amongst else. Also was the first female guest host on "The Tonight Show" with Johnny Carson.

She had a star on the Hollywood "Walk Of Fame".

Arguably THE iconic TV Mom of the 70 along with Marion Ross (Mrs. Cunningham) and Shirley Jones (Mrs. Partridge).

Lets not forget Harriet Nelson, wife of Ozzie and also a great TV mom. I saw Ozzie and Harriet at the RU Alumni Faculty club on College Ave after the homecoming FB game one year.

Sad to hear. Brady bunch was a little before my time, but still knew who she was . I did see the reruns. I was under the impression the show was a huge hit up until just now and heard it didn't really fare that well as far as ratings. Was this more of a cult classic to some people?
rip Mrs Brady .

I guess that is the way to go, quickly. Fine and having fun on Monday dies of a heart attack on Thursday.

Wow this is hard to believe because she was just on Dancing with the Stars and looked great.

Was Maureen McCormick (Marcia) a contestant and still in the mix Monday? The article/else says Henderson was there to support McCormick? I feel asleep Tuesday and missed my cutie Laurie Hernandez (boy has her self confidence and demeanor have changed since the Olympic trials) win it all.

Didn't know until recently Marcia was a coke addict and in being so turned some tricks for cash. Mike was a closet homosexual and died from AIDS but I think most know that. Supposedly Greg and Florence had something going on but that's never been substantiated as far as I know.

It became much more popular in syndication. The massive popularity of the reruns is what spawned the subsequent TV specials, movies, and cartoons.

Most of the 60's "iconic shows really weren't hits in their time. Gilligans Island and even the original Star Trek both last only three years ( I think). The reason it seems that they were on a long time is that back then TV shows turned out a lot of episodes in a single season. I think "Gilligan" had almost 100 episodes and Star Trek somewhere around 85-90 for three seasons (around 30-35 per year). For contrast NCIS, one of todays most popular shows only has about 25 episodes per season.

RIP Florence Henderson. I really enjoyed watching the Brady Bunch every Friday night at 8pm. God bless.

Using "hero" a bit loosely. However for us who were children/young teens at that "The Brady Bunch" was at the top of our list of favorite shows. Like one poster said Friday at 8PM. I think at one point it was "The Brady Bunch" and "The Partridge Family" with Shirley Jones as the matriarch.

One of the co-leaders of R tailgale (who has a major position of the tailgate.

Not sure I had heard about Marcia but I would have B*ffed her until she thought I was Davy Jones! Add her to a list of celebrity turned hooker/adult actress. There was Dana Plato, Olympic runner Suze Hamilton....
