Interesting

Dobbs is notable for his work at the infancy of cable news. He is noteworthy for that and his longevity

Nah, but given your posting history there was a clear reason you posted it here (and not on the more applicable CE board). It's hilarious you are now playing the, "What me?" card. Dobbs WAS notable for his earlier work but in later life he became a partisan hack that pushed political lies that cost his employer hundreds of millions of dollars. You knew what you were doing when you posted this, hahahahahahaha.

I actually had no idea (or had forgotten about) Lou Dobbs' later history. Probably more forgot about it because I don't care or think of people that way. And your characterization of him is way over the top. He had a long media history that did not involve the last few years of his career. Boy is the NYT batshit crazy- caught a glimpse of their story on him.

bac has a point, it's amazing how people on the left love to demonize people who differ with their views, even in death. Let the man RIP. He didn't hurt anyone. He merely disagreed on a few things with the self-righteous MSM and those that feed from that trough.

The characterization of him is not over the top. He was a propagandist at the end of his career. That's not made up or exaggerated. He literally helped cost Fox millions in settlements over the various election conspiracies he propagated on air. He lied about Dominion and was a big reason Fox had to settle with them. He (and Fox) were also forced to settle another defamation lawsuit where he helped promote a conspiracy that some Venezuelan tampered with voting machines. He's also named in the Smartmatic case, which Fox is likely going to settle as well.

If Dobbs went on air every night and talked about limiting government and cutting taxes and other conservative issues, I'd have zero problem with him. But he didn't.

Best post in thread.

All of it? He basically quoted the Time article he linked. Is Time insane drivel? I'm wondering what parts you disagree with. I don't dismiss stuff certain people post because I may generally disagree with a lot of stuff they post.

I'm kind of like this guy and get accused of being a both sider. Whatever. The fact is I agree and disagree with things on both sides.

The nutter twisted an excellent Time article about a coalition of conservatives/liberals who took action to ensure the 2020 election was fair. I am generally fine with listening to most points of view - especially those I disagree with.

However, when it comes to the 2020 election, I have NO use for ranters crying the election was fixed. Trump was and is a sore loser. He even accused Ted Cruz of rigging the 2016 GOP primaries.

This. 100%.

@Bob starts the personal insult spiral right about here.
That’s right ….a personal insult or a personal opinion? Funny how the posters who feign being horrified about certain posts have no issue doing exactly the same. Especially you .

The article was a brag that hasn't played-out well over time.

" They successfully pressured social media companies to take a harder line against disinformation and used data-driven strategies to fight viral smears."

Yes that was basically the agency psyop that suppressed the TRUE story of CCP corruption as recorded on laptop. Zuck has said "they made me do it." The blob used AI (yes it existed way before 2024) to censor Twitter/FB/Insta - Google was thick in the middle of it all.

I would have loved to see reaction to Koch Bros dumping half a billion into paying for strategic drop boxes and staff as part of a "shadow campaign" with a "secret history" (article title.)

Unfortunately the virus allowed subversives to play the margins in elections. The "conservatives" as part of the scheme were really "Never Trumpers." Critics generally fail to realize the GOP leaders might have been worst of all. GOP bigs wanted a loss so they could keep their grift going.

Alas, they have a new scheme now to use illegal registration and ballot harvesting armies (mail ballots globally recognized as most corrupts system - dropped by France and UK). Only a few blues voted to preserve voting for citizens. They need new base having wrecked the old one. America is on to it. In my county illegals have been getting flown in during tiny hours of the night. That's subversion but Elon has harder words for it.

Yes he was a notable figure, but a controversial one at the end of his career and that's what the posters are pointing out . So stop whining, you posted an article that brought on the comments .
RIP Lou Dobbs , you were considered a giant in your chosen profession and also a controversial one which can't be denied.

i like Lou until the Trump years... when he shifted way more political than when he blended financial impact with government decisions...

Their playbook is still the same Bac . “ I like Dobbs until Trump years.” So it wasn’t Dobbs per se. TDS is real.🤫

Question : prior to DT running for president in 2016 what personal interaction caused you to dislike him? News media stories? Personal interaction? His life and good fortune ? How did the negativity come about ? Or were you always anti other side of the two parties?

And the Republican Party liked Liz Cheney, Steve Schmidt, Nicole Wallace, and countless others until they dare questioned the undisputed Cult leader. That said, what’s your point?

Go invest in some self-awareness, you might get more respect

Do people have to dislike a politician to think they’re not fit to be POTUS? I would never vote for anybody who has been convicted of a felony, let alone 34 counts of a felony. And this is someone who can afford the best legal representation in the world. Has nothing to do with like/dislike.

But since you asked, a high percentage of what comes out of DTs mouth in public is self-serving childish insults aimed at anybody who gets in his way. He cheated on his wife when she was pregnant with his child. He regularly displays behavior we wouldn’t tolerate in a 10 year-old. He habitually broadly demonizes large groups of the very Americans he is supposed to work for and represent.

None of that has anything to do with political ideology. All of it are perfectly valid reasons to not vote for him. Or even to dislike him, although I personally don’t think of politicians in terms of like or dislike.

I also think Biden is unfit for office due to his age and age-related cognitive decline. And my favorite modern president is George Bush senior. So none of this is political party based or ideological for me.

It's hard to keep up with who had more or worse lies.

Let's see:
HB's laptop was Russian disinformation 🤓
Russia collusion 🥸
Good people on both sides😏
Vax prevents spread😵
Deny natural immunity🥴
Hidin Biden's decline😣
I stopped trying to follow all the conspiracy theories about SARS-CoV-2. Your post raised my curiosity:

"Vax prevents spread"
"Deny natural immunity"

Are there more than a few people who believe the vaccination didn't stop the spread of the virus? The data showing this are published and and are incontrovertible. The vaccines, obviously, could not be tested for this prior to release, but logic told us (and was proven to be true) that they did prevent the spread.

Are there more than a few people who think the existing immunity science (I assume this is what you mean by "natural immunity") papers were not published? Those data were published in top flight journals (Cell, Nature, Immunity, etc). Pre-existing immunity (both SARS-CoV-2 reactive T cells and antibodies were identified) did exist in some people, but the protection offered was minimal, at best.

I can send you the links to the papers on all this - do you read the read the primary literature? Are you an immunologist?

Let’s not forget John Kelly, Rex Tillerson, H.R. McMaster, Mike Esper, John Bolton, and on and on.. “Only the best people”, weren’t they?? Until they weren’t.. And what was their sin?? They spoke their truths after having seen him in action and declared him uniformly unfit for office. So therefore they must be the ones that are flawed amirite???

In fact 40 of his 44 former cabinet members have refused to endorse him.

Again, it’s everyone else because it couldn’t possibly be the Cult leader could it?

They never proved an actual crime and $$$$ trail. A political attempt to cripple your opponent . Welcome to your 3rd World Reality.

The playbook? LOL. I didn't realize pointing out reality was part of some "playbook".

He, along with some others, cost Fox millions and millions of dollars due the fact he went on air and LIED about the 2020 election. If Dobbs had stuck to what he was good at and hadn't gone off the deep end with election conspiracies and other Trump BS that were clearly lies, he'd likely get more respect from people.

It wasn't that he was conservative or that he even supported Trump. I have friends that are Trump voters, I have no problem with them. The issue is that Dobbs became a propaganda puppet for Trump, gaslighting people to the point it cost his employer hundreds of millions of dollars.

I can't tell if you are obtuse or being disingenuous with this response. As I said, I didn't have a problem with Dobbs being a Trump supporter. My problem arose with Dobbs when he went on air and started pushing bizarre conspiracies and lies about the 2020 election, the lies/misinformation that got himself and his employer sued - eventually costing them hundreds of millions of dollars.

Just wondering what your feelings are about the CNN and MSNBC propaganda puppets who all lied about the laptop? You seem very on top of the Dobbs facts. As I said, I was familiar with his CNN career, and didn't follow him when he was on Fox. But some of the so-called need people on MSNBC major propaganda puppets.

Oh please, save me and yourself the time. And stop with your conspiracy bs. Shall we dig up some statements by Fauci himself and some of the the other gobernment vax shills that later admitted the vax did not prevent spread and they knew natural immunity was actually more durable than the vax? Try another gotcha.

You say conspiracy … sure stick with that thinking Ty… point is both sides have in the past relied upon what is termed conspiracy.

Wrong. Try again.
Jurors in the New York criminal trial against former President Donald Trump have convicted him of 34 felony counts of falsified business records.
