OT: Stock and Investment Talk

Okay so can I get clarification do some of you actually support Russia or is it that you do not want the US to be involved at all?

If Ukraine defeated Russia without US support would you be okay with that?
I think there can be a middle ground where you condemn the action but don't commit endless weapons and funding to support Ukraine. Lord knows we have enough problems at home and we're not exactly in the Cold War / dominoe theory world anymore.

This speculation or you have a link?

It's an assumption. Two pipelines having leaks on the same day can't be a coincidence. Poland and Germany have said they think its sabotage.

Any guesses as to when the 2 year treasury will level off and at what yield? I am amazed that the damn thing goes straight up virtually every day for the past 2 months

What about the concern that it would not stop at Ukraine

I don't see any way they can get out of this mess for this winter. There isn't enough LNG capacity to make up the difference. 80% of the homes in Germany run their heat on NG or oil. Where are they going to get it? I don't see any leaders in Europe working on the supply side of this issue, just doubling down on their rhetoric. It's the craziest thing I've ever seen.

Now that Meloni has won in Italy I think the Italians are going to start to push back on Brussels really hard and possibly start talking directly to Russia about a solution.
Sweden too and this is an issue for US Foreign Policy. It was bad enough oblunder screwed things up so poorly in the ME but now Biden and his cabal are setting up the next 50yrs of a polarized world akin to the cold war. None of this is good

serious question, are you retarded? NATO has continually encroached on Russia and we are violating the Minsk Accord with Ukraine. Ukraine was vocal in asking for Nukes or Medium range missile batteries being housed in their soil and you think it's Putin starting this? Go back to 2014 and their elections and starting seeing this unfold.

Russia was never looking to expand it borders outside other than the Russian people in regions that were voting to be part of Russia!

We almost started ww3 over missiles in Cuba and in Turkey and you think Russia, which has repeatedly stated that NATO is going too far and continues to meddle in Easter European elections was going to sit tight? JHC you people are clueless

Now to add on to the supply chain issues caused by over the top hysterica to a flu, we've got China publicly saying more and more that they will take Taiwan, Iran close to Nukes that Biden continues to appease and make the goal posts closer, we've got energy crisis in the making with green nonsense, global debt concerns, Europe that cannot sustain it's energy needs without outside help (help that is almost becoming impossible due to retarded push of green) and a nuclear power openly stating Nukes are on the table in a tactical capacity and you think the answer is the support a regime that was murdering it's own people, human trafficking and money laundering capital of the world??????????

you must have surfed near nuke waste runnoff!

Any chance "we" can keep this thread focused on "Stock and Investment Talk"? Someone should start a new thread on "Ukraine and Putin" on the CE Board.
and all of this impacts your investments

until the West pulls off of the ukie jock, the mkts won't settle. You want the mkts to settle down and get back to economics based on sound principles, elect a republican congress, senate and presidency and get rid of the nonsense plaguing our country by lunatics. Europe is starting to do it with the strikes etc (you don't see these on fox, cnn, msnbc, etc)

issues everywhere but nothing starts to get normal until Russia get's the regions it should have and we treat Ukraine like the pariah they are and turn our backs.

Do any of you realize what the administration was asking Poland to do a month ago? Talk about brining NATO to the brisk of exchange with Russia. wow

Been nibbling at these levels. Not sure were at the bottom but I have started to buy some at these levels. May be more downside ahead but I will add more if it goes lower.

I’m 85% in cash after selling yesterday waiting for my entrance point. I’m thinking there‘s no quick rebound this time and it might be a couple of years. I said in the past when 2-5 years treasury get to 4%, 30-40% assets will go there. Plenty of people thinking like me.

I’ll still be trading in the mean time.
So, how much treasuries did you buy?

So, how much treasuries did you buy?
Couple hundred thousands but over half are short term expire 12-2022. I need ammunition to buy when the market hit 3,300-3,000. I want to make a killing when I buy. I don’t want to be too safe and miss the huge gain when the market recovers. Also, rates suppose to get to 4.5-5% in near future, don’t want to commit over 2-5 years. I guess I’m getting more greedy.

When market is down to 3,000 loss of 1,800 is 37.5% from the high but a gain of 60% when purchased at 3,000 and recover to 4,800. Many of my purchases are down 40-60% already.

S&P oscillator hit -14% today.....most oversold market since 2008/2009 (not including COVID).

Now you are talking. Glad you have learned from my posts! :)

Seriously, you should really think about the 2x or 3x ETFs. That's how you maximize the rebound.

Risk tolerance is a very important lesson for everyone! I learned my limit over the past 2 years and what I am comfortable with. Now, it's all about patience and math.

What did he say that was wrong? Be specific.

We have been goading Russia since 2014. He finally reacted. Never forget the enemy gets a vote.

Don't underestimate the sociopathic warmongers from Washington and Brussels. They have been doing everything than can to escalate this war since it started. Outside of Hungary and Turkey, nobody from the west has tried to de-escalate the conflict. Everything they have done is to designed to escalate.

These sociopaths are going to drive us to WW3.

I heard that historically the S+P doubles 2 years post recession. I’m not sure if it’s true.

Finally reacted? Russia invaded Ukraine in 2014.

Putin could deescalate by moving his troops out of Ukraine. Conflict over. Instead he’s more then doubling the size of his army while threatening the use of nukes.

But we are the warmongers? Brussels? It’s a pretty ridiculous take.

Yes, we are the warmongers and we have been for 30 yrs. The military industrial complex moves the battlefield from country to country to feed the war machine. It's so obvious and has been for a while. Only a fool can't see it.

NATO has broken several agreements with Russia to stop expanding towards Moscow and Putin has said so publicly many, many times. This is not a new issue and didn't come out of nowhere. NATO has continued to expand and taunt the Russia. He has responded and now anything can happen. We are being led by fools. Wake up.

Since 2004, but prior to Russias most recent invasion into Ukraine, 3 countries have joined NATO. All are tiny, none are especially close to Russia.

Saying Russian invaded Ukraine because of NATO expansion is nothing less then spreading Putins propaganda.

I think the lunatics want WW3 - and they want US to lose (like Afghanistan withdrawl)

Now it looks like the maniacs are responsible for sabotaging Nordstream pipelines

Pres. Biden: "If Russia invades...then there will be no longer a Nord Stream 2. We will bring an end to it."

Reporter: "But how will you do that, exactly, since...the project is in Germany's control?"

Biden: "I promise you, we will be able to do that."

Funny you mention a phone call. Is that not why you’re all spun up about Nuland? But I think she was more an after the fact participant. The uprising was already well in motion.

Stocks bounce in early morning trading after bank of england announces they will be buying more bonds.

Still in the red but it was significantly worse earlier.

So they are raising rates while buying bonds to keep yields down? Wow that's dumb. Truss might not make it until the end of the year.

Rate cuts and QE starting for everyone again soon! Powell is a disaster.

Cue the typical response...ITS GLOBAL

It would be even worse if it was a global chart. Especially if the chart was done in US dollars. I would like to see that too.

There is so much focus on stocks here and in the media, I thought it was good to see the true wealth destruction that has happened so far.

I still believe the US is much better off than the rest of the world, especially Europe. We are going to start to see bank failures in Europe soon. Watch out for Credit Suisse and DB. They have both been going straight down since 2008.

You've got the "soon" part wrong. Late '23, perhaps.
Much sooner than that. After the Sept data point is released, we will now have on record a full quarter of flat to deflationary prices. Not only is inflation gone, it has likely turned negative.

July = 0.0
Aug = 0.1
Sept = ??? (same or lower)

Where is this magical inflation that we are trying to fight? Can't change anything that happened 6-12 months ago.

Since just before the Civil War, late 1850s, we've averaged a recession every 3.25 years. Since WWII we've had four global recessions. Recessions happen. Accept it. Plan for them. It is YOUR responsibility as an investor.
