OT: Stock and Investment Talk

When staples like KO start making AI announcements, okay, perhap then we are jumping the shark. :)
There was a guy from ARK on fast money last night, and he liked TSLA, CAT and DEERE for AI.

Reasoning was, while all the tech stocks are building AI for others to use, and will thus have to battle it out to get those customers, the companies above are building AI for their own products. He liked TSLA for all the data they already have and will continue to accumalate.

I still own TSLQ, pretty even on the stock, but have done pretty well selling call's.

I can see that.....AI helping with the design and manufacturing of such products. If AI starts impacting the industrials, look out! Everything AI to the MOON! Including NVDA. :)

I was assuming the machines do the field work themselves, with an ability to read terrain, conditions, weather etc. And collect the info along the way.

I feel like TSLA is this centuries Bell where Bell went from the light bulb to so many important technologies and endeavors.

FAANG is crushing......

S&P YTD less top 7 tech stocks is down (-2%) YTD...........

It means, the big boys are just getting bigger and more important. Sometimes the winners stay the winners for a long time.

Flight to quality has been a narrative. Especially with Banks being a concern(and a drag on the S&P).

Also some rotation back after brutal 2022's.

And they've killed it thus far on earnings, so instead of a pullback post earnings, it gave them another leg up.

AMZN tonight. That one seems poised.

yup... thinner and thinner rally - and forward-looking multiples on those few winners getting sky-high...

returns are exceptional... and the efficiency AND growth story seem affirmed...

and yet, the questions is can something trigger a real retreat (not just a retracement) ... Not trying to be the bearguy...... just weird times......

Great post. Completely agree.

TSLA is still relatively early in its development. Right now they're lowering costs because production is exceeding capacity on the Y and 3. The next big leg up in the story will be when they move from the early adopter phase of their life cycle to mass adoption. The catalysts will be: 1) come out with a $25,000 - $35,000 model, 2) roll out the Cybertruck and 3) expand the charging network.

I'm now limited to ETF only so I guess it's ARKK for me
I think there is a Baron or Morgan Stanley fund that has a crazy TSLA position. As for an ETF look at PP. That one should have a large position as well.

Personally I'd take some off the table for some of the FAANG names. After some of the pops from earnings, I've sold some of the higher priced shares that I accumulated on the way down. Get out a little in the green for those shares and it brings down the avg price of the rest that I'm still holding and less worry over any pullbacks after these big runs up.

GDP for Q1 came in low at 1.1%. This essentially ends the Fed's rate hiking (unless they want to create a true depression). Please remember, the stock market is very forward looking. We are very close to the end of this economic cycle and bear market. Perhaps one more significant dip, but I am officially in buy mode.

If you wait for the all-clear signal, you will miss out on a huge part of the bull rally.

Sooo no worries about stagflation?

LOL. Rates were up across the curve today.

AMZN already gave up all those gains. Back to flat on overnight trading.
Up 5% today already. More rally to come for AMZN, especially as the cost cutting efforts improve the bottom line.

SNAP tanks.....as expected. Intel popping due to less bad earnings than feared! LOL.

SNAP down big on earnings

Had the last of my position called away awhile ago at $11.

Was this close to selling puts today.

All AMZN gains wiped out already today
Good move by Jassy. They were sandbagging on the call and setting up another big beat for Q2. Smart investors will see through this.

Big Tech = 4 for 4 on earnings. AAPL up next week for the sweep!

I do want to get back in so Im rooting for one last pull back.

Now is the time to buy any reasonable dip. This economic/bear cycle is coming to an end with GDP only at 1.1% and the Fed wrapping up. I'm itching to get the rest of my bonus cash in the game.

These one day, one week, one month moves are insignificant.

A lot of pain ahead for Amazon (AMZN - 4/27/23 close~$110)

TSLA on the other hand will be the biggest company in the world in the not so distant future. That does not mean it’s impossible to see it down 10%-15% from current levels. I’m in if we see 135 for another swing higher.

I wish everyone a nice rest of the month.

Musk is too distracted and competition continues to ramp up. Cybertruck will be a flop relative to the initial hype. Other than big tech’s usual suspects, earnings numbers have not been good.
