OT: Stock and Investment Talk

Watching right now. Been watching SERV rip since I brought it up. Pulling back the past couple days though.
Dipped down today due to a round of financing. I'm watching and hoping to buy soon. BTW, I just learned that you can trade Gold futures on Coinbase with 19x leverage. Good idea? :)

Anything with that much leverage is likely a big winner.

(j/k for those not aware)/

I'm so f'ing tempted to buy a contract and see what happens. Looks like it only costs around $100 plus setting aside a margin buffer. Coinbase also does crude oil futures with 8-9x leverage. When the hell did this happen? I assumed it was only coins/crypto.

While sorting through the avalanche of "quantum" bologna I came across article on Intel. It highlights how Intel's "solution" to its problems was to return to the poisoned well of DEI marketers and accountants who wrecked Intel years ago. Selling sizzle instead of steak..

"Intel’s board is incompetent and its horrible decisions over the decades are going to push it towards death. The decision to fire Pat Gelsinger, put in charge a CFO + career sales and marketing leader, and cut spending on fabs in favor of a renewed focus on x86 is an example of the incompetence that will end Intel. ..

Upon closer inspection, these failures are no surprise. 7 of 11 members have no relevant semiconductor experience. Two more are accomplished in the field but as academics, not industry players. They have no experience making hard decisions, understanding critical business inflections, and are not qualified for what’s at stake. "

In 2015 Intel took a leap into the DEI (divide and conquer psyop) sinkhole that Americans fall into over and over and over.

Jensen let the car out of the bag - actual quantum computing is years away. The talk about new quantum processors is silly,
Only a few quantum computers exist in labs and they are experimental

"D-Wave Quantum CEO Alan Baratz said Nvidia’s Jensen Huang is “dead wrong” about quantum computing after comments from the head of the chip giant spooked Wall Street on Wednesday.

Huang was asked Tuesday about Nvidia’s strategy for quantum computing. He said Nvidia could make conventional chips that are needed alongside quantum computing chips, but that those computers would need 1 million times the number of quantum processing units, called qubits, that they currently have.

Getting “very useful quantum computers” to market could take 15 to 30 years, Huang told analysts."

What impact will the LA wildfires have on the market? $50B in losses so far, and will most likely increase.

Probably not much. Maybe a few insurance companies dip due to future payouts, but the fires are not in Silicon Valley where Big Tech is.

I own HD, bought it in July. Up 7%. 2.3% div. I'll keep holding.
Been eyeing the ITB (US Home Construction ETF) and see if it dips below $100. At $102 right now. HD and Lowes are significant holdings.

In other news, quickly down 9% on NKE. Damn you Ackman! :)

Create your "T2Kplus20 ETF" for this thread. Post exactly what's in it now (and the weighting) and post what your are evaluating for inclusion. Go ahead. Have at it.

I already have a 33-holding custom basket based on T2K's proprietary research methodology (with a small amount of help via FS Insights/Tom Lee). It kicked the S&P's butt last year! :)

I like NKE, just want it a little lower but I don't expect a quick turnaround.

I would post my list, if others do the same. Would love is see what others are doing and get new ideas. My custom stock basket is up 1.1% YTD. Crushing the S&P which is only up 0.5%. 😁
C'mon, man. It'll be fun. You're hyperactive in this thread. And you routinely post your purchases and insights, and by all accounts, you're doing very well, performance-wise. Why not just consolidate all that and post your holdings? Not $ amounts, of course. Just weighting %s. Channel your inner Tom Lee and Josh Brown. Play along. Share the "crush." Note: this suggestion really isn't meant for any other purpose than to track the "T2Kplus20 ETF" in 2025.

PLUG was down big the other so I doubled my position. Well its up big today and im in the green on the overall position

Excellent jobs report pulls the rug on the market? Sounds like a buying opportunity.
Any thoughts on TTD? Josh B is always high on the company and the stock has pulled back 10-15%. And yes, buying opportunity. The economy is doing well and the upcoming earnings season should be strong.

Is PLUG just a trade or a legit long hold based on the future of the company? I haven't looked into it in a while.

Buy rumor sell news?
Maybe markets reacting poorly because it lessens the likelihood of additional rate cuts. That's why it tanked before Christmas.

I am not really buying anything new until I am more certain that the selloff is done.
I guess we will figure that out on Wednesday with the next CPI report. The market is jittery and can go lower, but I bet the next "good" piece of data will cause a face-ripping rally back to ATHs (or near). The economy is strong and earnings continue to exceed expectations.

I totally understand sitting out this volatlity.

But there are some stocks that are moving counter to the overall market. DVN has been good the last 3 weeks. PLUG over the last 3 months.

Both energy plays. I think health care is maybe doing well also?

UNH has rebounded some off a support level too.

UNH finally coming back up $21, earning out on Thursday. I still have my UNH and a little over breakeven.

So now, we don’t expect interest rates to go down this year. CEO of Walmart expect to raise prices after the tariffs, 80% of products are from China.

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who has become a lightning rod for anger over lawmakers trading in stocks in recent years and has, according to the report, “an almost cult-like following for her financial disclosures,” saw the value of her household’s portfolio rise by 71 percent.

I heard there is an app or something that mimics anything Nancy trades, seems like a good idea if she is earning 70% on her portfolio.
