Separate thread. So with the roster being announced today for the 2023 World Cup, should we talk about it here and hopefully keep the discussion somewhat insulated and soccer focused or should it have its own thread which will undoubtedly attract the haters?
Juve isn't going to UCL next season.Good step up in competition for Weah. Gets him in Champs also.
Another sign is that our B- team is favored to win the Gold Cup over Mexico’s B+ team. Lots of depth in the program right now.The fact that all of these American players are getting attention from the top clubs tells you all you need to know about the direction of US Soccer.
Seeing the starting 11, “B-“ might be generous…Another sign is that our B- team is favored to win the Gold Cup over Mexico’s B+ team. Lots of depth in the program right now.
I saw Newcastle wanting Antonee Robinson as well. Both good moves IMO.Rumor that Tyler Adams is a target for Aston Villa who is in the Conference League next year. Nice step up for him from Leeds if this happens.
Thanks to a corrupt FIGC.Juve isn't going to UCL next season.
It's not FIGC's fault that Paratici and folks did funny accounting. Thanks to a corrupt FIGC.
Oh crap I forgot about that.Juve isn't going to UCL next season.

This one surprises me. Robinson is dangerous going forward, but I thought Ream’s surprisingly good season for Fulham covered up a lot of messes caused by Robinson giveaways or being caught out of position.I saw Newcastle wanting Antonee Robinson as well. Both good moves IMO.
If you buy the advanced stats AR was a pretty elite EPL defender last year. This one surprises me. Robinson is dangerous going forward, but I thought Ream’s surprisingly good season for Fulham covered up a lot of messes caused by Robinson giveaways or being caught out of position.
As I said, Ream probably made those stats look better by eliminating some negative impacts for him.If you buy the advanced stats AR was a pretty elite EPL defender last year.
Newcastle does not have tight margins anymore. I think Jedi covered for Ream and and he plays up the field so much.As I said, Ream probably made those stats look better by eliminating some negative impacts for him.
He obviously has talent, he just exhibits some poor judgement at times, and I am surprised by Newcastle’s interest because they intend to compete at a level where the margins are so tight you can’t afford mistakes (and the opponents are so talented to take advantage of any).
By “tight margins”, I meant that you can get away with a few defensive lapses as a mid table EPL team that you can’t afford playing Champions League. Newcastle has very high aspirations with the influx of money they are getting.Newcastle does not have tight margins anymore. I think Jedi covered for Ream and and he plays up the field so much.
I'm skeptical of the advanced stats particularly some of the defensive ones but IMO Robinson is a very good player. USMNT to me he is the first name on the sheet. Nobody is close to supplanting him and he always performs. As I said, Ream probably made those stats look better by eliminating some negative impacts for him.

There is a difference between being a top player on the USMNT and a player on a team with aspirations of competing in the Champions League.I'm skeptical of the advanced stats particularly some of the defensive ones but IMO Robinson is a very good player. Ok.There is a difference between being a top player on the USMNT and a player on a team with aspirations of competing in the Champions League.
Pulisic is a guaranteed USMNT starter as well and can”t get starts at Chelsea. McKinnie is highly thought of USMNT player and couldn’t stick with Juventus.
I see Robinson as a talented player, but not someone with the ability (or even more so, “sense” when it comes to reading the game) to compete at the absolute top level of football.
