IMO, easily the worst coach in the B1G. Surprised it took this long.

I think Bobby Knight cursed them. They had Crean, Miller and Woodson in succession. Who will be the next underachiever there?

His biggest problem was that he never had a player anywhere near as good as he was. Same story for Eddie

If I’m Indiana , I make a run of the below :

- McDermott from Creighton

- Tony Bennett out of retirement

- Go after their alum - Dusty May from Michigan

- Iowa State HC Otzelberger

Unless Brad Steven’s wants it, Chris Beard will be their next coach, a damn good one.
Does Steven’s know Pat Hobb’s ? Maybe LeBron Jame’s will want the job. Jay Bila’s probably knows who the top candidate’s are.

Can’t wait to see Mahome’s and the Chief’s play Hurt’s Eagle’s squad tomorrow.

Not sure how a Rutgers fan can say that.

They have NIL up the wazoo, as talented a front line as there is in the country, a much sought after guard from WSU in Rice and they still are barely above average. Woodson does less with more better than almost anyone.

Beard probably be the one hired, if the domestic abuse accusation that cost him his job at Texas makes the Hoosiers wary . The charges were dropped and he's making the Mississippi program a winner
ISU's TJ Otzelberger is considered one of the top College coaches and would be a great hire if Beard isn't hired

A dark horse might be Drake's Ben McCollum he's doing an excellent job there after proving to be a real good one after having a great D2 run bringing in 4 National Championships and a 395-91 record in his 15 years as the Northwest Missouri State HC and he's only 43 .
Ben did take over a winner from Darian DeVries (150-55 and now WV's HC ) but Drake didn't skip a beat after the change and I wouldn't be surprised if he was considered to be in the running with TJ if Indiana didn't go after Chris Beard

We have two lottery picks.

Bad hire

But they think it's the 80s

They are no longer elite...another Syracuse
Idk man. Between where they are geographically and the NIL they can provide itll be a hot job that the right coach can very quickly get them back in the top 10.

If im them im going all in until one of chris beard or brad stevens says yes

Low expectations leads to mediocrity for most Rutgers teams.
If only we had higher expectations that would’ve solved all our problems like no facilities no tradition no money no recruits. If only we had demanded excellent a little bit more.

Not enough to beat Princeton or Keenesaw St? Not to mention we already lost to Indiana. That’s why I wouldn’t say he is easily the worst.
Hey, I don’t think all that much of Pike either, but even he would do better with Indiana’s roster than Woodson has. After Ace and Dylan, I doubt any of our players start on any B1G team. Yes, that’s on Pike, but I’d still take him over Woodson. That’s more of an indictment on Woodson, than praise for Pike.

Last 3 years: 23 wins, 21 wins, 14-9 this year, fired. What coach would take that job with those expectations

Despite all the “facts” posted here, we have to admit that Woodson has done a subpar-to-crappy job. All his teams lack player leadership and toughness. They play soft as tissue.

And I’d like to see what Pike could do with a full team of talent.

They have bigtime NIL now though. Make the right hire and they will be one of the top teams in the B1G most likely

Look what just happened to st johns

I remember when everyone thinks that hoops can turnaround much faster than football because all you need is 1 or 2 guys. Now we need a full team. We are actually worst with 2 lottery picks this year. I hope we can make a run. But Pike has done a terrible job managing this talent so far.

I'd love a soft team with no leadership that is a #4 seed and finishes the season ranked #21 overall.

Getting a bit tired of all these tough teams with great leadership that barely makes or misses the tournament.

When you lack talent, have to have heart and toughness. It’s not coaching.
