OT: Wow, Cincy Sucks

Announcers were saying if there was to be a Power 6 conference it would be the AAC. I then switched to "Land of the Lost" on SyFy channel.
Funny how an ESPN announcer says this after his network's actions destroyed the BE, which was a better conference. Equally funny that no one on ESPN would have said that about the BE if a cocked and loaded gun was pointed at their empty heads.

I guess Cinci is no longer "next man up". They used to whoop ass with their 3rd stringer.

Not an excuse- but SDSU does play U Hawaii every year - they are used to the travel and game prep for a location like that...

I haven't watched one snap of these bowl games. Wake me up when the playoff start. Last night I had a Merry Kenda Christmas watching the Homicide Hunter marathon in ID Discovery

Good for you. Some of us enjoy watching college football. Even the bowl games.

Enjoy the bowls. Looking forward to NC-Baylor and Wisconsin and USC.

Stop making excuses for Cinci, they were flat-out taken behind the woodshed and beaten to death. This game wasn't about "travel," it wasn't about not having Gunner Kiel, it wasn't about anything else - including the fact that they used in illegal player, who was supposed to be suspended for the first half, but played anyway - it was about a flat-out manhandling. Period.

Oh and I'm so happy the AAC is 0-3 because maybe we'll see a lot less of those douche bag Temple fans around. Hopefully Navy is the ONLY team from that conference to win their bowl game. Hopefully Marshall snacks down Connie tomorrow morning!

When I see (supposed) fans of a team that has played in games like The International Bowl, the Papa John's Bowl, the Beef O' Brady's Bowl and the Pinstripe bowl....... I shake my head at comments like this.....

I've lost track of how many of Moose's comments that I've shaken my head at....par for the course.

Yeah well I'm an alum (not just a fan) and I think these minor bowl games are garbage. My favorite bowl RU played in remains the Insight (née Copper) Bowl vs ASU in 2005. Great location in a Bowl Game that was around before the ESPN bowl game boom. And we got absolutely shafted in 2006...even our most staunch enemies admit that much. 2012 was a worthy bowl game as well. 07, 08, 09, 11, 13, 14 bowl games did not excite me. To me they were just a 13th game on the schedule.

By the way...have you seen the AAC logo? I mean it's really cutting edge!!!

"Your team su-ucks, your team su-ucks."

"Yeah, but how's my drawing?"

It is par for the course for the Hawaii Bowl to be lopsided. There has been one game decided by 7 points and one by 15 in the last eight games counting this one. The third closest game in that time frame was 24 points last year. It is usually a question of which of the two teams bothers to come ready to play. Hawaii, and Christmas Eve so not home with the family. Probably more distractions from being focused on football than any other bowl game imo.

Travel was the first thing that came to my mind in this game. 5 hour flight to 10 hour is massive, especially in college.

Not sure I get your point. My point is when RU is a participant in one of these minor bowls, I watch. When it's Cincinnati and SDSU or alike, I don't. Since this thread is for those that care about such contests, I'll now butt out and let you carry on about these meaningful games.

Not a factor for a bowl game. They been on the island for a week now. Plenty of time to adjust and recover.

Rutgers fans or not, they were all irrelevant bowls like this one yet we had people running around like Rutgers mattered

I've watched a little of every bowl - and much of most of them - and it's been great.

Great seeing match-ups you'd never see during year. Great seeing kids play games that matter a lot to them.

It's so sad that you think that way.
And whether you think they're irrelevant or not is irrelevant.
I guarantee you that when they talk about Frank Beamer's team going to bowls for 23 straight years they're not gonna put an asterisk next to the ones that bacontherack thinks aren't relevant.
Geez, what a loser.

Those games are relevant to the kids playing, that's for sure.

It's football. Would the miserables rather see bowling for a championship?

By this negative logic, get rid of every bowl game not for the NC. None matter then.

Same old argument with the same old people saying none of these bowls matter and the same old other people saying they do matter to the fans and players of those teams.

What was the announced attendance? I saw, like 8 people in the stands
