Our IT support at work says this is a known issue and it is difficult to fix. Can't find anything on Google.

Employee has laptop with Windows 8, even though was advised to get Windows 7.

Trying to use RDP connection to her computer at work to work from home. The connection is made, but the screen shot of the work machine is extremely small.

Any ideas?

I've never run into that using RDC from Windows 8 to Windows 7. Perhaps she can use a 3rd party tool, like Terminals.

Is she logging in directly to the machine, or through the VPN?

I'm pretty sure she is going through a VPN.

We log in through a VPN connection first and then connect through the Remote Desktop Connection (RDP). Hope that makes sense.

iirc, you need windows pro 8 to do RDP. only set this up once and it was Win7 to Win8.. so not exactly what you are doing.. but maybe the professional version is required to be a client as well.

I know nothing about nothing - but I use a VPN and laptop with windows 8 to RDP into my desktop with Windows 7 and it works fine.

if you're still having a problem, I can ask the girl who sets up all my stuff.
