*** ONLY THE HAPPY NEED RESPOND!!!!

Whenever it is...is gonna be a lot of fun. The stress relief, for both the program and these boards, after a few years of nonsense, will be epic. Maybe not 2005 but a lot of damn fun and, I'm gonna go out on a limb here, it won't be in either Detroit or The Bronx (unless, by some minor miracle, we get to 6 wins next year...).

We wait. We'll see. We'll concur some poor city. Nashville? Orlando? Tampa? San Diego? Who knows...who cares...just can't wait to put everything behind us (again, lol)!

I will go out on a limb also and say, Ash will have us Bowl ready in 2 years! It's gonna be a lot of fun Nuts! I hope this fan base sees the future that Ash is instilling into this program!

San Diego as a poor city?!? The holiday bowl is the best non-NY6/playoff bowl possible imo

lol I think you misread that Woz...I mean "poor" as in "they're screwed once we get there after a few years off" not "filled with vagrants"

Cherry Hill's own Glenn Foley said that.

F--k him. So glad Boston College is completely irrelevant now.

You are absolutely right! My mistake! I new it was Boston College though! He Said "The only bowl Rutgers is going to is the one I just got off of".

It'll be pinstripe and everyone will gripe. God forbid it's next year! Can see it now "I don't care I predicted 2 wins, I'm not going to Yankee stadium. Even though I bitched and didn't go the Maryland game"

I had seats 2 rows behind him at Giants Stadium the week he made that comment. I harassed him so much I think had him in tears-and think I personally was well responsible for RU's halftime lead. Unfortunately he regrouped at halftime. Later in the papers he apologized and recognized "the fans" giving him grief.

Go big or go home.

Pasadena.

ClassOf02, I like the way you think.

The dream-Rose Bowl. The game plan.....FMCA, Family Motor Coach Association, has a one week Rose Bowl package for member RVers. Behind the scenes tours of all the events leading up to the game. Pre-parade tours of the floats, stadium tours, guest speakers at dinners, tailgate parties and then the game. What a way to spend Xmas week in sunny Southern California. We can dream.

my guess:
Pinstripe Bowl after the 2018 season when we finish 6-6 or 7-5. (We will likely be a 7th or 8th overall pick after the playoffs but Pinstripe will want us vs a team like Pitt, Syracuse, or BC to assure a sell out)

We will be 6-6 to 8-4 after the 2019 season and go to an away bowl game (heart of Dallas / Armed Forces, Foster Farms, or Quick Lane bowl). At 8-4 we may have a shot for a Music City game but at 7-5 or 6-6 we will still be in the lower tier of bowls since we may only get 1 school in the playoffs and there are schools like Nebraska, Wisconsin, PSU, Mich, and Ohio St that will draw better at an away bowl game.

It's the Pimp$tripe Bowl vs. Maryland in Yankee Stadium.
No Parking donations just $40 and a spot with some curb appeal.
Forget the Tailgating but you can get a $12 beer in$ide.
The view from your seats ? Wonderful if you bring some high powered binoculars.

Looking forward to it.

Imagine the Rose Bowl. Hopefully at least once in our lifetime

If we go 6-6 or 7-5, sure, Captain Happy! Go hit White Castle this weekend and live it up a little! Just passed a brand new one in Route 1 in South Brunswick it's like the Taj Mahal of WC's!!

Beat me to it. That would be our luck. Two games in the Bronx weeks apart.

Again, it would take a minor miracle to get to 6 wins next year and if we do it would be a complete and pleasant surprise, so who cares in that case, right? I wouldn't worry too much about it, anyway, we've got a long way to go.

I was at the 1978 Garden State Bowl and waited 27 years for Rutgers second bowl game. We'll hardly be waiting that long again. But once Rutgers started its run of bowl appearances there were fans on this Board who were "ho-humming" the post season appearances we did get later on.. even bemoaning and insulting some of the games we played in -- even claiming to boycott some of them because they weren't "good" enough for us.

It's fine if you think Rutgers deserved a better bowl in some seasons over others. But just remember to enjoy and appreciate the ones we have gone to - and will be going to - down the line. Think about these days when the post season appearances start coming around again. Criticize the level of Bowl game if you must. But shortly after that, appreciate the chances Rutgers gets to play in the post season. The Rutgers football season gets mighty short when we're not there.

You are right. Having been a fan about as long as you. My criticism really was not of the Pinstripe Bowl but more of losing the home game with Maryland a few weeks before.
