People need to forget about offense.
But you can't forget about Rettig. He is a member of the back up quarterback club – the group of players that have mythical superpowers able to overcome any shortcomings of the rest of the offense
Let me borrower this from Trump. What the hell do you have to lose (by playing Rettig)? Can the O really be worst?
People will not forget Rettig because he can throw the ball. He is the only QB on this team that scored on OSU, but he can't run which is why Mehringer and Ash do not use him. They don't want to change the offense in their first year.
That's the best secondary I've seen in a while. They have 3 first rounders in Hooker, Lattimore and Conley.

They all have more running ability than Rettig. Rettig on the other hand throws the ball better than any of them, but as far as this game is concerned, Cam Newton would have had the same results.

Rettig has passed well in the past but will likely never play here again.Why?Who knows ,but it is appalling that we stay with the status quo.No difference from Flood so far re CL.

How CL continues to be given the previelge to start for this team is amazing.
To be fair, he earned it. But at this point, he should've lost it by now. Think the coaches invested too much into him to make the change......just like last year.
That's right--down 30-0 and you shouldn't consider a qb with a strong arm who has thrown a td against oSU before if he can't run the option. Need to only consider the running qb's and not even talk about a thrower when down multiple scores or you'll be "permabanned" or whatever. Got it.
Rettig passed the ball well against a 1AA team and in garbage time. He has shown himself to be the Rocket Williams of QBs quite honestly, as he's proven nothing but fans love him despite his 5th string status.
play Odin and get him ready for next year, the season is over. next season will be better for playing a real QB and having him learn.

I'm not taking the earned fact away , I agree. But Chris has more then shown that he has lost it , unless your telling me our other options are this bad (which I can't see being possible). I hate :fire: a player but this is beyond ridiculous now.
Mehringer's offense is the same offense Ohio State won a championship with.
Can't say that 5 games into his first year , especially without personnel to match the system.
Are you people seriously this stupid? In 2012 our offense ranked near DEAD LAST out 128 D1 schools. That team had Carroo, Jameson, Kroft, Nova, Dodd, Harrison, Coleman, James, DC Jefferson and Jeremy Deering.
Who do we have TODAY on this team that would play over any of those guys? Think about that for a second.

Rettig might deserve a shot. Like Oden but cringe every time He gets hit. Good OC makes use of talent he has.
WTF were u expecting? A bare cupboard. A new coach and offense. No Grant. Facing a,team full of future pros..A QB who should be at Ramapo...if you can't wait this out then go find something better to do .
