Game got a bit sloppy in spots and that definitely favored UM and their athletes. Also that we were trailing the entire way also dictated UM controlling the style of game being played. Would have liked to seen us keep the game a bit more structured as I believe that it could have mitigated what appeared to be some gaps defensively at times. Obviously the scoring drought to start the 2nd half was the difference in the game on the scoreboard and UM definitely has the talent edge, just know we didn't play the type of ball we wanted to. If I'm Pike I'm trying not to go up and down with these talented teams again. Otherwise awesome fight from our guys and not at all disappointed in the outcome.

Here's your quandry: We can't necessarily run with teams that are more athletic, but our shooting doesn't give us the ability to run a proper half court offense. And we don't have that monster down low that can truly handle the post (Gettys is great and all, but he's no Jameel Warney type player).

Your points are right on the money. The issue that we faced last night is going to be the same issue with pretty much every team in our league. The speed of the game in the big 10 is so fast. When you run your offense, if everyone isn't on the same page and I mean exactly on the same page, you won't get any open looks. The screens have to be crisp and there's no hesitation. That's not an easy task when your are being defended by McDonald's all Americans like last night.

Pikes is a very good coach and that will help win us some games. But more importantly, his coaching abilities and the fact that he seems like an even better person will get us the kind of players who can beat a team like Miami and win in the big 10. Corey is at that caliber and this current team is going to improve. Not sure it will get us enough wins for post season play but I'm excited to find out.

He's a damn good coach imo. The best we've had in 25 years.
