Well tonight my Linden boys didn't quite have it and lost in a tough game vs. Paterson Eastside 58-51. The game was close throughout but Paterson Eastside won out with their height and foul shooting. I was hoping to get to the RAC on Sunday but it wasn't meant to be. Otis Livingston led Linden with 18 points and was 4-7 on 3's. Josh Carter scored 16. Paterson Eastside had a couple guards who were just as fast as the guards from Linden. It was an exciting game but now there is always next year.

I heard that Roselle Catholic came back from being down 20 to defeat Trenton Catholic and that Pope John XXIII took care of Seton Hall Prep. St. Anthony beat Hudson Catholic quite easily. I think they should be the favorites to win the TOC. Cherry Hill East defeated Hillsborough by over 20. It sounds like the Cherry Hill East vs. Paterson Eastside game should be competitive but I think Paterson Eastside will win but than again I really haven't seen Cherry Hill East play.

You seem to follow the Tigers pretty closely. With at least 4 seniors about to be lost to graduation what are the prospects for next season? A major rebuilding job? Of course if we were talking about one of the parochials we know they would just fan out across the country or even the glove to recruit some more players. Any players coming up through the system?

I am not really certain. I know one soph started (Crawford) and the tallest guy on the team jumped center (Moncion) and is a junior. He only played about 8-10 minutes a game at 6'3" but improved greatly as the season went on. A freshman (Jones) I believe had a broken hand in the 3rd game and didn't return until the last few weeks. He was in the rotation at the season's end and seems pretty good. Another soph was Krempa who seems like a very good shooter and Phelps another junior seemed pretty good when he played, although sparingly. I'm sure they will not be nearly as good next year but I never count Phil out. He is a great coach and Linden is a basketball town. The JV team was pretty good too. I really cannot see them playing with the likes of Roselle Catholic, Pope John, St. Patrick etc. next year with losing so many key players but maybe they might surprise me.

Thanks. I appreciate the insight as I now live in Georgia. The Krempa name is a familiar one to me as I went to high school with Tony Krempa who I guess could be his Dad. In the years since we came to know him as Superfan.

When I was at 5 star camp a kid from Paterson Eastside scored 44pts in a 28 minute running clock game, incredible

He'll almost certainly need to make a detour towards Prep and/or a JuCo, but Rutgers should be all over Pateron Eastside's Shakur Juiston

deviljets7 ...

Appreciate your contribution to this thread. Linked year-old article about Shakur Juiston. Very complimentary. I hope Rutgers has him in their sights. Paterson has been good to Rutgers -- Marquis Webb and Myles Mack.

Eastside's Shakur Juiston driven by tragedy

We went over to Trenton last night for the Finals. We live close to Manasquan now and my kids attended Pope John so it was a chance to see some old friends.

Roselle Catholic was just way too good for Pope John. Briscoe was very good and the frosh Reid has a chance to be a great one.

What a steal Monmouth got in the Saar kid-------long , athletic and can run. He belongs at a higher level.

Girls game was excellent-----both teams played their hearts out . A shame one of them had to lose.
