Patrice Rene: maybe our only hope for a 4 star

Outside of Malcolm Pridgeon re-re-considering and maybe a monster year from Russo, the star gazers' (and I'm kinda guilty here) only hope for a four star is Rene. I'm not a premium member but I'm hearing good things just by perusing ElevenWarriors and other free sites. I hope we can land him!

If you go on the premium sure and claim that stars matter you get a verbal beat down by the regulars there. You can't talk about 4 stars as they claim it doesn't matter ...... Unless of course we acyptually land one then it matters.

Look at the Top 25 from past years. Then go to the "recruit class rankings" of these teams over the preceding half dozen years. There is a correlation between the ratings of the recruiting classes and the national rankings of college football teams. I don't know if anyone argues against that point.

However it is also obvious that the correlation is not a strong one. Around 40% of the Top 25 had recruiting averages for those 6 years ranking below 30th in the nation; 10-20% have classes ranked far below 30th. Posters list a few of them over and over; but they seem to be ignored.

If you disagree, check it out yourself. Show us the numbers that prove your point. Otherwise it seems mostly like bloviating.

The kid destroyed it in osu Friday night lights, but I'm still thinking we have a few other players pegged a little higher. The kid is six foot two, 200 pounds, and was a legit beast at the tOSU camp. But when your on a roll like we are right now on the recruiting trail unfortunately you have to cool on alota top tier talent. When osu fans say we don't have interest in these high level kids, it's not that we think their not good enough, theirs only so many kids you can take. I hope he picks RU because Patrice Rene has crazy upside. If I find the video of the camp I'll post it here.
